I got tired of using Migration to copy software onto my MBAir from my MBPro. It was slow, and problems would arise as they would duplicate the user ID's/Key Codes. I had to go into Terminal to uninstall the Bento3 Code!!
This SuperDrive is fabulous and freed me to load software as needed and it allows me to watch movies on the MBAir.
The only reason it's not a 5 star is because it ONLY WORKS ON THE MACBOOK AIR!! Functionality on all Macs would be a great move by Apple.

The 11" air is a light weight, compact, laptop that runs circles around any netbook I am familiar with, but it costs over twice as much so it should be much better. It will stream video/audio to TV with a Mini Port/HDMI adapter. All in all a good choice for those looking for a very portable laptop who don't mine paying the price for it.

I imagine the SuperDrive is, technically, designed and built just as well as any other optical drive; however, the Apple designers have designed a drive whose appearance is "jewel-like" and for that, it is, to me, unique. I wouldn't go as far as to suggest it should be on display at a fine art museum, but you get my drift. It is beautiful.
