The Ikegami Fiber Extension System transfers HD and NTSC signals between a camera recorder and a base station via SMPTE292 hybrid fiber cable. It offers automatic detection of HD/SD input signals and transmits HD-SDI, camera control, intercom, and audio signals. Offering 4 channels for video output that provide HD-SDI signals with a transmission rate of 1.485 Gbps, the extender provides 2 channels for audio output signal. It transmits data upto a distance of 500m. The transmission distance can be extended up to 1.2 miles (2 km) via a separate power supply to the camera adaptor.
