The Microboards Technology PWBD-206 Playwrite External Blu-ray Recorder is Microbaord's professional choice for external digital and HD media storage. It affords Blu-ray Disc write speeds up to 8x and DVD speeds up to 16x. The PWBD-206 facilitates high-definition recording to Blu-ray Disc and features high-capacity data storage applications as well. It makes available USB 2.0 and eSATA interfaces for data transfers. The PWBD-206 also has Buffer Under-Run Protection, which ensures writing speed won't exceed data transfer speed.

I ordered this to archive footage from my Mac Pro. Using the USB connection I was unable to get a complete project burn and wasted several discs trying to isolate the problem. The computer couldn't communicate with the drive. It would for about 8% of the burn, then nothing. Contacted Microboards for support and they said Mac "technically doesn't support Blu Ray". I ask only this: Why does it say for Mac in the description then? Don't waste your time or money if you're a mac owner. Get the Lacie equivalent that comes with Toast.
