The Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 4-Bay RAID Solution from Other World Computing is an excellent option for high performance data storage and redundancy needs. Configured with four accessible 3.5" Serial ATA bays, FireWire 400, FireWire 800, USB 2.0, and eSATA connectivity, this RAID Solution is the ultimate in performance and convenience.
- NRAID
- Combines capacity of two or more drives of the same size without any RAID data distribution scheme into one logical desktop volume. Will also combine the capacity of varying size drives based on the lowest capacity drive in the set
- RAID 0
- Data is split into block over two or more drives at the same time for high speed and large capacity

- Data is written at the same time to two drives for the highest level of data safety and redundancy
- RAID 5

Very easy to set up. In a matter of fact, it was already setup in RAID 5 with all the disk pre formated if HFS+. All I did was slide in the four HD and that's it.
Noisy compare to a stand alone external drive but I'm not convinced it could be better with another brand.
