Gary Fong Tripod Adapter for iPhone 3GS
The Tripod Adapter for iPhone 3GS from Gary Fong is a bracket that slides on to an iPhone and mounts directly on to a tripod. It must be noted that the fit it is based on tension, so Gary Fong does not recommend aggressively shaking or subjecting the stand to sustained movement. However, if you're using it in conjunction with their optional Flip-Cage to stabilize vertical video, it's becomes a perfect combination.

I had one need and didn't want to spent anything more than necessary. To shoot video I wanted my iPhone mounted on my existing tripods and this device does exactly that for under $20. While a bit snug to slide on, the result is a secure hold of my phone by an adapter with a metallic threaded mount. it does exactly what I need and nothing more.
