The Tripod Adapter for iPhone 4 from Gary Fong is a bracket that slides on to an iPhone and mounts directly on to a tripod. It must be noted that the fit it is based on tension, so Gary Fong does not recommend aggressively shaking or subjecting the stand to sustained movement. However, if you're using it in conjunction with their optional Flip-Cage to stabilize vertical video, it's becomes a perfect combination.

Comments about Gary Fong Tripod Adapter for iPhone 4:
I think the concept is perfect in its simplicity and expected to have to remove the bumper from my phone. What I didn't expect was that the Gary Fong tripod adapter would ruin the anti-glare film on the front of my iPhone 4. The molding process should result in a smooth surface between parts, but the tripod adapter I received had flash or a ridge of plastic where the parts were molded together. Be sure to run your finger across the surface where the part touches the front of your phone before you put it on. I am sure a little sanding will resolve the issue, but considering the cost for this simple piece of plastic, I expected better quality.

Comments about Gary Fong Tripod Adapter for iPhone 4:
This is by far the simplest & most effective iPhone tripod mount on the market. There are only a few on the market & they are poorly made or overly complicated. This is spot-on. The only draw back is it's price but in this case you're clearly paying for a clever & well made design. The phone slides in & is held snug without slipping & it doesn't scratch or mark-up the phone.

I haven't used this yet, but if you plan to shoot much video with your iPhone 4, this should come in extremely handy. Enables your iPhone 4 to be attached to a GorillaPod (and similar devices).

Comments about Gary Fong Tripod Adapter for iPhone 4:
The iPhone 4 is a great little video production tool and this tripod adaptor makes it even better. Finally I can place the phone in a stable mount and shot video that is properly framed. This adaptor holds the phone very securely. My only complaint is the price which seems very high for this little piece of plastic. The threads for the tripod mount are in a metal insert so there's no fear of them stripping like they might if they were plastic. All in all I'm delighted and glad to have located this handy little tripod adaptor.

Comments about Gary Fong Tripod Adapter for iPhone 4:
Great, simple adapter to hold iPhone 4 to a tripod (or a home-made steadicam like I did). What I didnt like was that it was too wide and covered the screen so I ground down the sides so that it's only a quarter inch wide and it still holds the phone well and in fact it's now easier to get the phone in and out of adapter. Holds very tightly to the iPhone 4's dimensions and for this reason cannot be used with any case on the phone. I think the iPhone 4 has excellent video and still camera quality but holding it steady is difficult so this adapter was just what I needed.

Comments about Gary Fong Tripod Adapter for iPhone 4:
I use the iphone 4 camera a lot: both still and video, usually with poor results due to shaking. with the Tripod adapter, those issues are now gone and best of all, I can attach a real tripod to it so the pictures come up as if it was a costly DSLR camera!
I gave only 4 stars because I have a clear skin on the phone to protect it from scratches and the tripod adapter fits more than snuggly: to the point where it almost ripped the thin film protector.
