the Lastolite Ezybox Speed-Lite is an ideal way to cut down on the harsh and unflattering light produced by undiffused on-camera flash. The 8.6 x 8.6" soft box quickly mounts to your flash via touch-fastener belts. Removable interior and exterior diffusers give medium to maximum softness which is especially valuable in portraiture. The Ezybox Speed-Lite folds flat in seconds when not in use and stows in the supplied soft storage case.

This is the best small hot shoe flash modifier I've used. It's well built, holds on to the strobe securely and does a pretty nice job on helping to soften the light. Of course, don't expect miracles as it's only 8.5 inches square. If you want a big soft box look then get a big soft box. If you want a well made tool that definitely works to ease up the harshness of the speedlight, this lastolite product works. I also have the 21 inch box and it really delivers.

This small softbox is certainly better than straight flash but not much. I have the Ezybox 24" by lastolite and there is a night and day difference between the two. This is definitely usable if you are looking to simply soften the light from your speedlight but don't expect soft, wrapping light or tapering shadows. Especially if you're more than a few feet from the subject.

Comments about Lastolite Ezybox Speed-Lite:
This is a very well made product, not as small as some cheaper products and definitely a very sturdy, reliable softbox. Very easy to put together, comes with 2 pairs of velcro straps for secure mounting. There are 2 diffusers supplied making a very soft light when both are installed. Front diffuser is lined with velcro on all sides making it easy to put on and secure.
It is no 69" Rotalux softbox so don't expect light to wrap around your subject. But it is a definite improvement over the harsh light straight off the flash. Use it properly and it will reward you.

In short: this box is superior when compared to bare flash or SB-800 with Sto-Fen. I EZybox with my Nikon flashes an get better result that what I was getting with Sto-Fen.

Comments about Lastolite Ezybox Speed-Lite:
I own a few Lastolite products, so didn't hesitate buying this one. I needed a small softbox that I could leave in my roller bag, that I could grab whenever I needed it. To eliminate having to always carry my larger set up.
This one works brilliantly. Excellent for close up portraits. Has made my job as a press photographer a lot easier, by having a quality lighting solution always on hand.

I primarily use this at weddings for my detail shots (rings, cake, favors, flowers, etc) It produces a nice even soft light and is far better then using direct flash.

This is the perfect add-on to my Nikon speed light when using it as a fill light. It is light, portable and most importantly produces a soft, very even light for its size. For traveling, it serves as a very useful portable softbox that extends the usefulness of my portable flashes.

Comments about Lastolite Ezybox Speed-Lite:
I've been waiting ezybox speed-lite by lastolite for more than 2 months. Yes, it's great product. 8.6" does make all sense and it is really easy to mount. This softbox gives about medium softness which is good for outdoor portrait. However, you can't change the direction of flash gun in order to hold the softbox and please do not expect the softness of over 20" softbox
