The Aspire AS5741-6441 15.6" Notebook Computer from Acer is a 15.6" notebook computer with a wide 16:9 aspect ratio. Designed with multimedia performance in mind, the computer is also up to such tasks as e-mail, school work, and financial management. Its multi-gesture trackpad and full-size keyboard make using the computer comfortable and intuitive.
The system is powered by a 2.26GHz Intel Core i5-430M CPU, which can be overclocked to 2.53GHz via Intel Turbo Bost. It boasts 3GB of RAM, a 320GB 5400rpm hard drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi, a SuperMulti DVD burner, an built-in webcam, and integrated Intel GMA HD graphics. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

Bought as replacement for old laptop. This Acer is my second Acer laptop purchase in the past 3 years.
This is a large laptop best used on a desktop or lap at home. I've been very happy with the Acer reliability and quality vs. price. My older Acer has been upgraded and is functioning perfectly. This model has the full key board with the full number key pad on the right side, making its width extra wide, and not easily transported. There is only one thing that I dislike about this computer, and that is the keyboard. Its flat surface makes it very difficult for word processing, because my fingers often slip off the proper keys which makes extremely annoying for word processing, at least for me.

I purchased this laptop recently. This is a great deal for me. This has a good battery backup.Excellent Performance.. good boost ups.
But size seems to be larger and little more weight than i expected... But good deal for STUDENTS

This laptop is a Gem. It's a huge improvement over my 8 year old dell desktop.I have a digital SLR camera and the dell would always lock up while working with pictures, I guess because of the file size, but this acer handles them easily.

I really liked this laptop. It is relatively light weight and looks appealing. Initial installation was easy and without any issues. It was easy to create backup DVDs on the first go. In contrast a bought a $1300 Dell XPS 17 and I couldn't create system backup DVD due to software problem. (A softwate update resolved the issue). I got a passmarks benchmark of 857.
