View Similar ItemsThe versatile Casio Green Slim XJ-A245V DLP WXGA Projector resists categorization. Every time you think you've nailed it down, up pops another capability in a completely different scenario.
Let's start with the basics. With 2,500 lumens of brightness and a 1,800:1 contrast ratio it can project a brilliant image just about anywhere. No matter what you use it for, you're going to love the crisp, vivid, saturated images its Texas Instruments DLP DMD imaging chip creates.
They're illuminated by Casio's revolutionary mercury-free light source. It uses a hybrid laser-LED technology in which Casio is so confident they warranty it for three years or 6,000 hours of use, but it routinely lasts 20,000 hours. In an industry where 90 day lamp warranties are the norm, that's amazing.
It can also do 720p, 1080i and 1080p high definition and it has HDMI, component and RGB inputs. That's means it would make a great home theater projector. And its color, brightness and compatibility with every gaming console on the market underscores its abilities as a great gaming machine. No TV can match the thrill of playing on a screen that can be up to five feet across, measured diagonally.
The WXGA (1,280 x 800) is especially friendly to today's widescreen laptops, providing more screen real estate for side-by-side images and multiple documents.
Take a closer look at the specs. It can project in the NTSC, PAL and SECAM video standards, it's got a multi-language OSD (on-screen display) and it's got a power supply that can handle from 100 - 240V. It also comes with its own case and weighs just five pounds. With international credentials like that this projector is a corporate road warrior's dream.
Your XJ-A245V USB port comes in handy no matter what kind of user you are. If you make presentations on the go, you can leave your laptop behind and carry your show on a USB flash drive (available separately). Or, if you want to access PCs wirelessly on your home or business network you can. Casio includes their YW-3 Wi-Fi adapter.
So you'll have to make up your own mind. Is it an educational, home theater or business projector? No matter what kind of projector you're looking for, the Casio XJ-A245V will do an outstanding job for you.

Comments about Casio Green Slim XJ-A245V DLP WXGA Projector:
What I like the most is that it gives a HUGE screen, and very bright (3m wide projecting at only 3.5m distance), and if you are watching some low quality video (e.g. youtube 360p, or online TV), you can decrease the size of the screen with you remote so it won't look that bad.
The fact that it has such a long lasting light source is great, because I just don't mind about using it too much. Movies, TV, internet, or even reading the newspaper.
The remote has great functionality: changing the screen size is what I use the most, but also focus, image properties and everything else.
Things I would have liked to know before buying:
3 main CONS.
1) the non-eco mode is VERY noisy. Too much for indoors. Maybe it's ok for outdoors. But this is not too bad, because it has three power modes. The noisy one, eco mode 1, and eco mode 2. I use it in eco mode 2, the dimmest one, which is still ok if you don't have a lot of light from the outside, and it's a lot more quiet (ceiling mounted, though). If you have too much environment light, eco mode 1 is still not too noisy.
2) WIRELESS functionality is very LIMITED:
(a) you cannot connect it over your wireless home network. It works on a separate dedicated network, so you have to connect your PC or laptop to this "Casio network" to use it wireless. Result: no internet (unless wired) and wireless usage at the same time.
(b) There is an important delay (~1 sec) from the source to the projector. It's not too bad maybe for a slideshow, but if you are watching a movie you cannot use your primary audio source, because the image will arrive 1 sec later than the sound. Instead, you have to send both video and audio wirelessly to the projector. And here comes con # 3.
3) the speaker, it's really lame. You can still use your primary audio source (wired though), but if you play content from the USB port you are stuck with the speaker.
All together, I must say, I still love this projector, and I would buy it again if I had to. I guess I just had to accept the flaws, and enjoy the rest. For example, I just don't use the wireless at all. Here is something where you can save $ 100 by buying the version without wireless (models ending in V have wireless). No USB would save you another $ 100.
Enjoy!
