Panasonic's 3D Active Shutter Eyewear Essential Pack Combo (TY-EW3D2MMK2) is the gateway to a dazzling entertainment experience. It is impressive both in how the 3D glasses function and in what they allow you to experience. When you put them on and look at the screen, the technology first blocks the left and then the right lens. It happens faster than the blink of an eye - so your eye won't notice it. But when images are shown to each eye separately this "staggered" effect achieves far more lifelike 3D images. Ose the 3d glasses with our new tc-p50st30 TV and SC-BTT37 Blu-ray Home theater. Viewed the 3d Avatar movie that came with it and really enjoyed the experience! They only work with Panasonic.
The glasses are light with comfortable nose support.
About the only thing wrong is that their expensive. When we bought them they where on sale so it was not as bad.

These are the rechargable type of glasses and you can't replace the battery if/when it goes bad. Has nothing to do with how they work, just letting you know. It comes with 2 charge cords but they have to plugged into a active USB port to charge. Would be REALLY nice if it came with 2 AC adaptors (I.E. Iphone type charger). Okay, how do they work? They work fine! The TV video is a shade darker when wearing the glasses but all shutter glasses do that because of the way they work. It's like putting on a lightly tinted pair of sun glasses. If you wear prescription glasses these 3D glasses will sit a little low on your nose. Almost like you want to keep pushing them up. That's just the way it is. If you don't wear prescription glases it won't be an issue.
But the 3D effect is great so that's about it.

Glasses fit well & can be recharged by TV.
3D Avatar is a great movie to showcase the features of a 3D Panasonic TV & the glasses.
It would be nice if the TV engineers could design the TV's so 3D glasses weren't required.
All the 3D stuff is a bit expensive, but it definitely offers a new TV viewing experience.

I bought it for viewing 3D material on Panasonic TV. The manual mentioned that it needs 2 hour charging. Actually it took about one and a half hours.
The Avatar 3D movie is amazing. I would say, much better than I expected, even a bit better than my theatrical experience. 3D effects are outstanding. The setup is automatic. I didn't have to change any settings on glasses or TV. Just put in Avatar disk, play, and enjoy. Very simple.
The reason I didn't give five star is (also mentioned by other reviewers): the vertical viewing angel is not very wide (horizontal angel is good). You have position your viewing direction/head-body position properly to watch TV. It is a little bit tiring after long time watching, just a bit. Other than that, it is perfect. Avatar 3D is amazing on my TV.
Overall, the package is highly recommended.
