Sometimes less really is more: the GEO POD E64 4-Section Carbon Fiber/Basalt Monopod from Velbon is 2 legs short of a tripod, but you get more speed in setting up shots, more room and space available for lenses, accessories, etc., and more flexibility in where to set up shots. This 4-section support is made of a carbon fiber/basalt composite for added strength and rigidity, and extends from 1.74' (53.2 cm) up to 5.47' (166.7 cm). The positive lever locks and unlocks the sections very quickly, and the whole monopod weighs just 16.15 oz (458 g). The attached strap and the rubber foot give you a solid support, even on uneven ground.
