The Manfrotto 237HD Heavy Duty Flex Arm holds items in place well, as long as they are not too heavy. My Sunpak 622 is 936g and it was too much for this arm to hold in place. At 680g of its own weight plus the superclamp at 453g I find the combination to be a bit heavy to carry around to locations, but I will pack them anyway if I anticipate their use. For holding heavier loads the magic arm may have a better weight to load capacity ratio.

Comments about Manfrotto 237HD Heavy-Duty Flex Arm - for Super Clamp:
I continue to be impressed with Manfrotto products. They are consistently well made and packaged. This flexible steel arm is exactly as advertised. I use it to hold a light fixture for some macro work, and it does the job well. I was hoping to use it as a camera mount, but it will not support even the lightest of my kit - a Canon T3i. But the camera exceeds the stated weight capacity of 1.10 lbs, so I can't blame Manfrotto. The company's Superclamp, Magic Arm system is just good stuff: solid, durable, well designed and well manufactured. B&H does it again - good stuff at a great price: what's not to like?

I Bought this with the super clamp to make a flexible mic stand for my podcast. It is a very easy portable mic stand that can hook onto most anything. I can bend it unhook the super clamp and put it right into my back pack on Im on my way. I all so use this for video taping my comedy sets. Again you can clamp it to most anything and bend it to what ever angle you need and it stays where you need it. I love this combo heavy duty fex- with super clamp

Works exactly as described. I am a videographer and I use a 7 inch monitor and battery on this flex arm. I am sure it will hold a lot more weight. Feels very strong.

Its a nice sturdy flexible arm. It does take a bit to adjust it and you wont' be able to adjust it as nicely as the magic arm.

Comments about Manfrotto 237HD Heavy-Duty Flex Arm - for Super Clamp:
It's a great tool with a myriad of uses. I mainly use it to suspend a speedlight from a light stand. It gives great angles to the subject and is strong enough to even keep an old Sunpak 555 handle mount flash still.
Best used with a Manfrotto mini clamp.

Very strong will hold a bit of weight. I'm attaching to the super clamp and you need the additional spigot for 3/8. It works great.

Dont worry about the flash shifting when you use this arm. Its a bit heavy and even takes a bit of effort to get it bent into shape, but then again takes a bit of effort to get it OUT of shape, too.

Comments about Manfrotto 237HD Heavy-Duty Flex Arm - for Super Clamp:
We use the Heavy-Duty Flex arm to hold a heavy fiber-optic head for a forensic light source. The ease of adjustment is great and the Flex Arm holds the light head in a steady position, illuminating the object at the proper angle during photography. The super clamp attaches to almost any surface, and easily detaches to accomodate moving to a new location.

Bought the arm and a small ball head to support a LED light to use with a stand for unassisted location shoots. It probably more than I needed but it works great - solid as a rock, and could support much more weight. Recommended.

Comments about Manfrotto 237HD Heavy-Duty Flex Arm - for Super Clamp:
Got it to mount things off a Super Clamp or other bases. Pretty good, but bends under weight; it started to collapse under the weight of my SmallHD monitor with battery (about 2 lbs?). Probably need an articulated arm for anything much over 1 lb. or so. Would be great for hanging small and lightweight lights (such as LED camera lights). Probably good for gobos and flags, although its weight seems like it should be stiffer. It's not a lightweight arm at all, about 1/2" in diameter. Useful, but not a perfect solution for everything.

Comments about Manfrotto 237HD Heavy-Duty Flex Arm - for Super Clamp:
This arm comes in the box straight and stiff as a board. The way it looks in the picture gives you the sense that it's loose and very flexible. But this thing is very, very sturdy. I can easily attach a super clamp to the shooting table and load a Novatron FC Head onto it without any worry at all.
It will bend but the words Heavy Duty from Manfrotto are very accurate. You won't be disappointed!

Comments about Manfrotto 237HD Heavy-Duty Flex Arm - for Super Clamp:
Manfrotto has always made great products and this one lives up to its' Heavy Duty name. I did have to buy a 3/8" to 5/8" adapter to use it with my Alien Bees studio strobes. I wanted something that would allow tilting of their Beauty Dish and this has done the trick at a lot cheaper price than buying a seperate boom arm stand. I use it with my 13' light stand and it gives me a little more height in case I need it, but it's mostly used exclusively with the beauty dish. Beauty dishes won't adjust downward very far (almost nothing at all) and this has solved this problem for me perfectly. Thank you B&H and Manfrotto for selling and making such great products! Comments about Manfrotto 237HD Heavy-Duty Flex Arm - for Super Clamp:
I was definitely not expecting this to be what it was. It is definitely heavy duty - it resembles a baton in all honestly.
It works very well - I originally intended to use it with the Justin Clamp to move a future Pocketwizard Flextt5 unit away from my 580EX II, but after a bit of playing around, this thing is currently in use to keep my 580EX II closer to the umbrella shaft to more accurately hit the center of the umbrella.
I've tested around with it and I can stand the weight of an umbrella adapter + 60" eclipse + a 580EX II on a Justin Clamp. Suffice to say, I was very impressed. Will be ordering more in the future

Comments about Manfrotto 237HD Heavy-Duty Flex Arm - for Super Clamp:
Bought the heavy duty flex arm to support a flash or a camera when connected to a super clamp. The arm is strong enough to support a medium weight DSLR or a flash. I like the flexibility it provides to move the gear to the place I want, while still maintaining the adjustment. This arm gives me more reach and greater use than the stationary arm.

Great product, solid design. Works well with the other Manfrotto equipment. Careful that you don't expect to hold reflectors or foam core with it, however. It is not strong enough. Right now I use it for a light meter hanger. :) I would have liked an even heavier design so that I could at least hang a reflector or foam core.

Comments about Manfrotto 237HD Heavy-Duty Flex Arm - for Super Clamp:
This is a heavy but sturdy piece of gear. I've used mine with a super clamp. Often use it as an extension for a hair light when shooting multiple speedlights. I have also used this to hold a D700 + 70-200 lens + a speedlight mounted on a ledge where a tripod couldn't be used. It bends but will hold firmly and is well worth having in your kit. It appears to look like rubber, but is actually metal that can bend. Versatile piece of gear to have on hand. This is not something that will break.
