The EverFocus Polestar II Color True Day/Night Wide Dynamic Range IP66 Bullet Camera employs Digital Wide Dynamic Range technology to help maintain proper exposure in extreme lighting environments. In low light situations the camera will use its day/night function, powered by an IR cut filter, to switch from color video to an IR sensitive B/W mode. In night mode the camera's minimum illumination requirements are only 0.0002 lux (SENS-UP 256x).
3D-Noise Reduction further helps the camera maintain optimum image clarity in low light while reducing file sizes on a recording device. Together with the camera's ultra high resolution of 560 TVL, generated by a Sony Super HAD II CCD, and various other picture controls this will ensure a high degree of image visibility both day and night and in a range of lighting and scene scenarios. All camera functions are easily accessed via the camera's user friendly OSD which can be accessed via on-board controls or from a distance via the camera's RS-485 interface.
This camera features mirror and rotate functions, which you can activate when needed to gain a better viewing perspective. You can also activate the camera's 32x digital zoom for bringing areas of interest into close-up view for detailed analysis. Security is further enhanced by the camera's motion detection function with 4 selectable zones. You can also block certain areas of the image from appearing on the screen (privacy masking) for privacy or legal reasons.
Thanks to its durable, IP66 rated enclosure with integrated heater you can install this camera in an indoor or outdoor location without the need for an auxiliary housing. You'll also appreciate the camera's integrated 2.8-10mm varifocal lens so you can accurately dial in the proper focal length according to a particular viewing requirement. The integrated bracket provides sturdy camera mounting while allowing easy and accurate camera positioning for the perfect viewing angle. This camera readily mounts to a wall/ceiling surface or to a 4" electrical box. The base can be removed for attaching the camera to a 1" conduit.

Comments about EverFocus Polestar II Color True Day/Night Wide Dynamic Range IP66 Bullet Camera:
In general, this is a very good camera. Below are my "likes" and "dislikes". However, I generally recommend this camera.
LIKES:
* Ease of installation - it has a small, light base ring which mounts first. Then, you simply attach the camera to the base ring. This is much easier than trying to screw a heavy camera into your mounting surface.
* Good low-light capability - using the automatic gain control and sens-up features, this camera does very well in low light.
* Electronic/motorized zoom and focus are easy to use.
* Physical adjustments (up, down, left, right, rotate, etc.) are precise and easy to manipulate.
DISLIKES
* The camera's color rendition is about average. Colors are clearly identifiably, but they do not "pop", for lack of a better term.
* The camera is a bit bulky and heavy. Be sure your mounting surface can handle the load. The included drywall anchors do not install confidence. I installed the camera into 1/2" solid wood just to be safe, and used stonger screws than the ones included.
* By nature of the motorized zoom and focus feature, it can be a bit of a challenge to land exactly where you want in terms of proper focus and zoom. This is because when you zoom in or out or adjust the focus one way or the other, the motor travels a fixed distance that is beyond your control. However, after some fiddling around, you'll get close to where you want it.
If you have an area with some amount of ambient light at night, this camera can produce a very good night image without any IR. And, in day time, it does a very good job.
I recommend the camera. I have only had mine installed a short time so I cannot comment on longevity, but so far I am pleased with my purchase.

Comments about EverFocus Polestar II Color True Day/Night Wide Dynamic Range IP66 Bullet Camera:
I bought this camera for security for my home. The camera was easy to install. The picture is good, not great but good. The camera does not have LED's for night vision, however, the camera is still excellent at night. Even without LED's the camera has a good picture in almost complete darkness. The only negative thing I can say about the camera is that the picture is a little "snowy" The camera seems very sturdy and well made.
