When you're shooting with a telephoto or in low light and moving too fast to set up a tripod (or you just want to travel light), the Benro C49F Classic Carbon Fiber Monopod may be your new best friend.
This carbon fiber support reaches a height of 5.61' (1.71 m), closes down to 19.1" (48.5 cm), and supports 55 lbs (25 kg). It only weighs 1.3 lbs (0.6 kg), so you'll barely know you're carrying it. Opening and closing the 5 sections is quick and easy with the flip lever lock design, and high elasticity rubber feet prevent slipping (meaning less fatigue for you in the long run).
An attached wrist strap and a closed foam grip give you a secure hold on the monopod (and your camera!), and the grip insulates your hands from the carbon fiber on cold days. The head plate has a reversible 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 screw.

Comments about Benro C49F Classic Carbon Fiber Monopod:
This very light, very sturdy monopod is "just right" as Goldilox would have said. It is easy to deploy, easy to carry, and could double as a walking stick for those of us over 60 who like to have a little more stability when hiking to a shoot.
It does need a head. Unless you intend to tilt the whole apparatus to get the right shot. I find the best use is not as a substitute for a tripod, but as a way to deal with the fatigue I get trying to shoot with a four pound lens for an extended period of time. It also allows bracketing to work properly as a technique. Particularly for long range shots.
Bottom line, well worth the money.

Comments about Benro C49F Classic Carbon Fiber Monopod:
it works with my RRS clamps really well together, I usually attach my Nikon AF-S 400mm/2.8 and 200-400mm/4 VR II on the monopod, it's strong built, handles very well with bigger telephoto lenses... I am very happy with this purchase, the new and improved foot and flip-locks are working great...

Comments about Benro C49F Classic Carbon Fiber Monopod:
[...] very pleased with the Benro monopod. Its locking mechanisms are very secure and I appreciate the fact that they are all lined up when the monopod is collapsed. I'm 6'2" tall and the monopod easily reaches the height I need and has great stability at that height with a relatively heavy camera and lens. I especially appreciate the compact size which is a plus for travel.

Comments about Benro C49F Classic Carbon Fiber Monopod:
This new Benro monopod is terrific. Closed or extended, it has the right height, strength and light weight I need for my particular brand of photography. In digital photography, you really can't do without a good tripod, but in so many cases, a monopod is exactly the right remedy and this one is exactly the right monopod.
