Benro Classic A1580F 4-Section Aluminum Tripod
The Benro Classic A1580F 4-Section Aluminum Tripod is a lightweight, sturdy support for a point & shoot or DSLR camera, with a maximum load capacity of 13.2 lbs (6 kg). With the center column and the four leg sections fully extended, the tripod reaches a maximum height of 59.4" (151 cm).
The A1580F includes several professional features that ensure its stability, such as user-adjustable flip locks on the legs. Locking screws in the top plate provide an extra level of security and stability when attaching a head (not included). A hook at the bottom of the center column allows you to hang a counterweight from the tripod's center of gravity for increased stability, especially in windy conditions or with uneven loads.

- For an extra measure of flexibility, Benro tripod legs can be independently locked into place at three different angles to enable shooting in cramped quarters, on irregular surface areas, or at ground level.

- Closed-Cell Foam Grip
- A thick layer of closed-cell nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) provides a comfortable yet firm grip when carrying your Benro tripod.
- Wingnut-Style Column Lock
- A wing nut-style center column-locking knob allows for secure, intuitive-action height adjustments on the fly.
- Reversible Center Column
- The center column, which features a ridge-and-groove design to eliminate unwanted column rotation, can be quickly inverted for exacting, lower angle camera positioning.
- Spirit Level & Compass
- In or out of the studio, a built-in spirit level helps keep your camera squared-off and level to your subject, and a built-in compass provides orientation coordinates.
- Head Mounting Setscrews
- Setscrews provide an extra level of security when attaching the head to the tripod's top-plate.
- Center-Column Hook
- A hook, located on the bottom of the center-column, allows you to hang additional weight from the tripod's center of gravity for increased stability.

I needed a compact and lighter-weight tripod for my landscape and night photography. Although this style is not as strong as my old tripod, I needed to lighten up my total payload when traveling. This tripod will be adequate especially since I can hang my camera bag under the tripod for more stability. Also, I wanted a tripod with flip locks on the legs.
