Comments about Buffalo 4TB LinkStation Pro Quad LS-QVL/R5 Network Hard Drive Array:
1)There is only 1 nic not 2 as both Buffalo's website and B&Hs web site state
2)Media server worked for a day now I can't get it working again on my Macs.
3)Appliance seemed to be working at first glance. Set up shares moved a bunch of data over, tried to access the shares from different machine no data. Tried a windows machine and same thing can mount the share and see directories but not all of the end data. Support points the finger at my macs but can't help me fix the issue.
4) Turned on flickr support. Drive became unusable slow to access data.
5) Time Machine is not plug and play like it make you think you have to create your sparcebundle file then push it to the nas before time machine will work.
6)NEW PRODUCT needs the bugs worked out!

Comments about Buffalo 4TB LinkStation Pro Quad LS-QVL/R5 Network Hard Drive Array:
I just bought this NAS to attach to my home network which is mostly MAC, with a few PCs. My goal was to create a central storage place with RAID so that our home files would be protected. It was very easy to install and it immediately connected and configured properly. However, if you are wanting to use Apple Time Machine to back up, it was a very painful experience. After many searches and calls to a very friendly tech support I still couldn't get the drive to connect to time machine.I finally found this link and it worked perfectly.[@]The unit is so small, it fits behind my iMac. It does make a bit of noise while files are being copied, but not too bad.

Comments about Buffalo 4TB LinkStation Pro Quad LS-QVL/R5 Network Hard Drive Array:
This product is working as expected and as advertised. I haven't had it long enough to report any long term problems or issues. But I am very comfortable that my data is now more secure. It set up easily and with no glitches that can occur when you hook up a new peripheral device. Could be 5 stars, just don't know yet.
