Comments about LaCie 3-Port Firewire 800 PCI Express Card:
The card installed easily. No difficulties or snags whatsoever. I was hoping it would help me solve a computer noise issue I had with my recording studio. It did not. But, that's not the fault of the card. That problem was solved using ground lifts on a DI. Still, this card performs flawlessly with my firewire 400 interface (PreSonus FireStudio Mobile). If you need a Firewire 800 card, this one works just fine for me.

Comments about LaCie 3-Port Firewire 800 PCI Express Card:
I got this because of the LaCie name and was one of the few Firewire cards stating support for Windows 7 64 bit. To get it to work I had to contact LaCie's customer support, who told me to set it to "Legacy" support in the device manager. After which it worked but under performed (slower than usb 2). I found an additional fix on a message board saying "cache" needed to be disabled, after which it finally performed like it should have out of the box. Both of the fixes were not easy to find, buried deep in obscure Windows settings.
Finally, I was disappointed that while capturing video to this card that a Firewire external hard drive can't be seen. I talked to someone online and they told me that he had tried numerous Firewire pci-express cards and returned them for similar issues.
I'm not sure whether the fault lies with Windows for not properly supporting Firewire or LaCie for not supplying their own drivers, and relying on the OS 's drivers. In the end I got it to work but someone less savvy wouldn't have. I also didn't care for the bright blue light. I thought about returning the card but it does what I got it primarily for, capturing video from my camcorder.
Note transfer speed specifications the industry uses is deceptive: Firewire 800 refers to the burst speed measured in bits not bytes. 800 bits = 100 bytes = 40-50 Mb/sec average real world speed. Compared to USB2 20mb/sec that's still twice as fast.

Comments about LaCie 3-Port Firewire 800 PCI Express Card:
Bought this card to use with a Presonus Firewire Audio Interface. Card Works perfectly, only using F400 and Legacy drivers. (Audio interface Reasons) But No pops and Clicks, with 10 INs and 10 Outs on lowest latency setting possible.

I just popped this bad boy into my PCI Express slot, booted my computer, it recognized the card, installed the drivers, and I was good to go. LaCie is a great company.
