Polaroid Studio Series Camcorder Video Light
The Polaroid Studio Series Camcorder Video Light is a 3-watt on-camera LED light that mounts easily to any camcorder or DSLR using a standard shoe mount. The light is balanced for daylight (5600K), which means it's a bright white light that reproduces the look of indirect sunlight. This makes it ideal for filling in shadows during outdoor scenes or delivering extra punch to dimly lit areas indoors or at night. The battery-powered light comes with an AC adapter and, for off-center placement, a mounting bracket that attaches beneath the camera. This allows for more indirect--and more pleasing--lighting of your subjects.

To give adequate light, so as to illuminate subject in order to capture image under better lighting conditions other than, low-light indoor lighting. It is better than no-extra light. Videos will not be high-enough-quality if you did not have sufficient light for the sensors to pick it up, yet, I cannot say that this product will cast light for a great distance. It is most likely best for closer up recording. If you don't have a light for a camcorder and you're concerned about spending too much, then I would recommend this one, it is good/ok for the price.

The light doesn't clamp down on the hot shoe very easily. Gaffer tape might help this if it's required. This works great off camera, it's small and hand holdable. It's not bright enough to act as fill lighting in bright sunlight, but is great for closer and macro work at night.
