The Lorex LW2902 LIVE SD 9 Wireless Digital Security System consists of a monitor with an integrated digital video recorder and 2 wireless cameras (expandable to 4 cameras).
Recordings can be continuous, scheduled, or can be set to begin on motion detection. The system has a 150’ indoor and 450’ outdoor wireless range (based on line-of-sight), and up to 4 camera feeds can be viewed simultaneously or in a sequence. 2-way audio communication allows it to be used as an intercom, and it comes with an SD memory card that stores the recorded video.
The monitor supports resolutions of up to 640 x 480 pixels and frame rates of up to 25 fps. It can be used as a simulated picture frame that displays pre-loaded images until motion is detected and can be placed on a table or mounted on to a wall. It draws power from a 5 VDC power supply.
The cameras feature a CMOS sensor, and support resolutions of up to 640 x 480 pixels. Minimum illumination of 0 lux ensures clear images in bright light or low light conditions. Night viewing range of up to 40’ (12m) is possible under ideal conditions. The cameras draw power from a 9 VDC power supply.

Bought this system for my elderly mother. She really likes it. Very easy to use and the video, both live and playback, are great. The PIR is nice. It will handle 4 cams but the extra cams are kind of high when compared to the price of the system, might as well buy a whole extra system if you want 2 more cams.

Overall these are nice units, and the ease of set up is impressive.
Two points that cause the 3 star rating.
1) the remote is cheap, and of poor quality. Sometimes it works, but often it does not work at all, yes I changed the battery, and it did not help. :(
2) these are described as "Cameras can be installed indoors or outdoors" and the box even has a little icon showing an umbrella with rain bouncing off it. We made the mistake of thinking that it rains outdoors in most places, or even snows! Turns out when you read the fine print, that "outdoors" means under shelter were it is not rained or snowed on...... like you know, INDOORS!!
I've fabricated a couple of covers for the cameras, but if I had known this in advance I would have paid more for the cameras that could stand to be rained on.
If you can install these in a sheltered area, they are good so far, for the price I think taking in the two points I made, they are very good.

I use this product to monitor activity in my outdoor ponds. The picture quality is not sharp and the colors are completely washed out. The distance between the cameras and the receiver is no more than 25 feet on a direct sight line from the house to the transmitters.

very easy to install and use.
could store only up to 32 gig so better not to use for intensive recording.
both cameras can not record at once.
motion detector takes a second to start.

Very useful. Cameras are easy to hook up and install and easy to expand to four camera. The screen doubles as a harddrive that records. And for the price ... Can't beat it.

At this point, I have installed one of the two cameras. I have one on my front door and will ultimately have one on the driveway. Installation and operation are very simple and basic. The fact that it is wireless makes life 100 times easier! The image quality is decent, about what I expected from such a system. The biggest flaw that I have discovered to this point is the rather low quality of the monitor, especially with regards to mounting hardware.
If you want a very basic system with effortless installation, I would definitely recommend this one.

This system was very easy to set up, once power is supplied to the camera's which was easy to tap into other power sources, simply mount the camera, turn on the LCD receiver and it all sync's automatically. The two way audio is very handy for an intercom and the automatic movement activation works very well.

I got the product and spent half day to set the system up. Basically drilled holes through drywalls to connect the power cord to the camera. The other parts of setup is easy. I got the images up by simply following the instructions on the manual. So far, everything works as it was advertised.

Comments about Lorex LW2902 LIVE SD 9 Wireless Digital Security System:
Installation was truly "plug and play". Power the components up and go. Great depth of field. I have them mounted within 5 ft of each entrance covered. Triggered record works well. Triggering is a little slow, one door hanger presented itself as only the blur of an arm moving out of camera range. Night vision produces usable images up to about 20 feet. No interference from wireless router but one 2.4 portable phone will cause signal failure from cameras when in use. Mounted under eaves and cameras have been through a full week of rain, no problems. Two way intercom works well for folks with good hearing. My hearing is poor and I need to really concentrate to hear from the camera. Camera microphones are very sensitive. We can hear crickets. The monitor screen scratches easily. Mounted the monitor under a shelf as we have cats who knock things over. Cob webs in front of the cameras at night will produce an weird glow like something from ghost hunters. Furthest camera is approx. 20 feet from monitor with 4 walls between. Get full four bars of signal. This is a great product for my application. I will be purchasing two more cameras and two IR illuminators (non-Lorex) to cover complete front and back yards.

Have had the unit for 1 week. Installed cameras under eaves and it has rained all week. Images are clear and the depth of field is great! Night vision is better than I had anticipated covering up to 20 feet with great illumination. Auto detect works great; both cameras are within 5 feet of monitored entrances, even caught a big moth one night. Furthest camera from receiver is about 30 feet with 3 walls in between. Receiver is in same room with wireless phone transceiver and wireless internet with no problems. I recommend using caution with the receiver's screen as it scratches easily. Did note furthest camera lost signal once for two cycles in auto cycle mode. No idea what that was all about but it was an isolated incident. Both cameras show full 4 bars of reception at all times. Installation was purely plug and play. Put the components together and plugged them into power; done. I intend to purchase two more cameras to be placed under upper story eaves along with a pair of more powerful IR iluminators made by another manufacturer to provide full yard coverage. Microphones are great. They were picking up crickets. Speakers on the cameras are good if you have decent hearing. I am a geek and would like to know what the usb port is for. No documentation found with unit or on internet.

The cameras and dvd monitor operate quite nicely and the price was reasonable. I had trouble with the threading on the camera for the mounting hardware. The threads on one camera were stripped and would not secure the camera to the mount tightly. The manufacturer sent me a new replacement.

So far I like this system very well. For me it is very easy and quick to get it all set up. I didn't need the manual for the settings cause it was so simple. The night vision is great, and reaches more than 40 feet. [...] One of the two cameras will show "No signal" while switching at times is the only reason i didn't give it a 5 star rating.

I was reasonably pleased with this product, that I purchased on July 20/2011. When I received it and set it up, I received an e-mail the same day about purchasing 2 more cameras for the system. I went on line and found a much better system for the same money and for $60 more could of had a really good unit.On your web site. Miffed.

Out of the box a great value and good quality product. Expandable. Looks professional. 4 stars because I think the mounting of the cameras could be slightly improved for ceiling mounting with the camera hanging underneath (but I found a workaround)

Surveillance set up for proof of vandalism. Installation was EASY! Truly a plug and play system. Everything you need is included. The clarity is impressive. The audio is outstanding.
The only thing that kept it from being rated a 5 is the remote is very flimsy. Improve the remote and you have yourself a 5 star system.

The cameras were easy to set up. The picture is clear. We are very happy with the product and are looking at purchasing at least one more camera for it. The only problem we may have is during our cold winters (-40C) as they are rated to only -10C and there are no covers designed for them right now.
