The Ethernet to Coax HPNA Adapter (2 Pk) from Actiontec is a set of 2 adapters perfect for transferring large multimedia files like movies, music and photos. The adapters use existing coax wiring and support speeds up to 144 Mbps. They comply with the HPNA 3.1 over coax specification. The devices support point-to-point and point-to-multipoint network configurations and are optimized to perform high-speed delivery of video and VoIP (Voice of Internet Protocol) data with little to no packet loss. The HPNA adapters are designed to connect 2 distinct and discrete networking types: Standard (and ubiquitous) 10/100 BaseT Ethernet and coax cabling. This allows for the distribution of rich digital content in buildings and homes driven by emerging applications and / or devices from telco service providers, including multi-room IPTV DVRs (digital video recorders).
