This is an excellent case, but a little smaller than I had hoped. Specifically, I had hoped it would hold flash units and zoom lenses upright in their cases. Those must be laid down. Otherwise, the trolley/handle arrangement is of superior construction. I am impressed indeed! Closed, the case unit is extremely strong and the locks/handles are far better than I expected. I do wish the cloth pockets in the lid portion were made of net material with elastic tops to hold filters and such more securely in place. Though they are not bad as they are. I generally use my case to transport lighting and grip gear for on-location shoots. This is a really good pro case!

I almost returned this because it did not live up to the high expectations I had after reading a review in Photoshop User and seeing an award on the manufacturer's website. The hard plastic shell seems strong, but the latches seem like they would shatter with customary airline cargo brutality. Also, the 2 halves have to be guided together to close it.
Inside space is not optimized. A D3 with L- Bracket is too tall to fit into the main portion: it projects above the brim, and the lid's compartment divider (not designed to be removable)runs into anything above the brim. The lid/cover portion has an attache case like folder compartment, ideal for carrying files and magazines as shown on the product literature, but that's not what I bought it for. It will be very difficult to fill up that space in the lid (see the picture)- perhaps the 1.5 inch zippered compartment cases for chargers, etc. from my Think Tank Roller Case would be good. They SHOULD have permitted camera bodies, lenses to project above the brim of the main body of the lower portion of the case and into the space of the lid. At the right side, the axle for the wheels passes through the interior of the case and is partitioned off, creating an inch wide "gutter" from the front to the back, with the axle running through it. Good for socks, I guess.
Still, unlike the LowePro roller cases which exceed airline carryon dimensions, and until Think Tank makes a hard side case, this seem to be the best one out there.

This case is a joke. First, it came without a key. On second inspection I noticed a 2mm gap between lid and main body when closing the case.
But it gets worse, after deciding to return the case I had to bring it to a friends office, basically carrying it at the top handle. I was on my bicycle doing this and all of a sudden the handle just came off. No surprise since it was only held by 2 short screws, drilled directly into the case.
Since it was too expensive to return the case from Japan, I picked it up from my friends office to wheel it back home, again nothing in it bar the dividers.
After only pulling it behind me it for about 10 minutes, one of the wheels simply fell off.
Do not buy this case, it's a total disgrace. As for me I bought a Pelican case instead, which is a whole different class.

Very nice case. However, it does have a few flaws. But, overall, for the price, it's a good case.I did a full review, with a few photo's, on www.Illinoisphotographer.net

I was disappointed because it is too heavy even without anything in it.
It is sturdy.
It is very shallow and my D700 with a grip and an L-bracket has to be lying flat in order to fit. Once the bag is packed with the camera and lenses, do not try to put in a laptop because you will not be able to close the bag.
I decided to keep it so that in the future if I have to ship my camera equipment, I could use it.

Professional photographer. Have had my old case for about 8 years. Lots of use and it has held up well. The only thing I dislike about my old case is the weird pin releases for the handle. They are bent up and always slipping down making it hard to release.I was disappointd to find the new design has a full 1.5 inches less interior space. Also the wheels are hard plastic instead of rubber which I am worried will not last as well. Plus the way the wheels are attached seems more flimsy. I wish I could get another case just like my old one with the new handle release. That would have been perfect. The big plus of this bag is the way it swings down so you can load things on top. Nothing else has this unique feature.

Comments about Porter Case PCi Deluxe Camera Divider Case with Cart (Black):
The case is used as a travel case for my DSLR system. I'm able to stow two bodies, with four lenses, a 15-85, 60 macro, 70-300 and a 17-55 plus a close up light unit, battery rechargers and cords, room in the lid for misc. paper items, etc.
The space that is used for the light unit is capable of holding a 100-400 lens in lieu of the light unit if needed.
It is very sturdy and capable to be used as a dolly for luggage while on a trip going thru airports.
It is supplied with numerous dividers to make up a multitude of compartmented configurations. Is very well constructed with a combination lock with a TSA key unlocking feature if checked on and locked for security.
The lid restraints are a bit short and one has to be cautioned that the lid can close unexpectedly!

I have always had a hassle with my camera bag getting on a flight as carry on. This case is just the right size holds both my cameras, lense and misc items and the wheels are great because now I can pull it instead of lugging a heavy bag over my shoulder.
If you travel with lots of equipment this case is a must have.

PROS:
It's great for carrying extra things in cart position. It's very rugged and solid...Hard plastic makes it light, but durable.
CONS:
The lid needs to be lined up with your hands as you close it. Straps connecting lid base of case seem to always get on the outside of the case as you close it..Annoying!!I will remove the straps. On the expensive side..

Just a quick thumbs up for Porter cases. Mine is going on 9 years old and has made countless Airline trips without missing a beat or being turned away at the door.
It truly holds 180 to 200 lbs of gear, light stands and my suitcase. When mine wears out I'll be replacing with a new version.

Comments about Porter Case PCi Deluxe Camera Divider Case with Cart (Black):
I have never had a camera case I have been totally happy with but this one is just about there. It's big enough for most photographers that want something bullet proof and is perfect for travel. I really wanted to give it 4 1/2 stars because there are one or two small but irritating features. The lid will not stay upright when open. The straps that hold the lid are 1/2" too short so the lid is not upright and can shut by itself. If you are looking in the case, it gives you a nasty bang on the head. Outside in a wind this is a real problem. There are sharp edges on the lid that hurt us bald photographers so I took the 2 straps off (4 screws). Now the lid falls all the way back and I suppose could allow items in the lid to spill out. I may add 2 longer straps if this becomes a problem. A better design would have been to have strong plastic, foldable (and lockable if desired)arms to support the lid in the upright open position. The lid pockets have Velcro straps(other than one large pocket that doesn't for some reason) but an addition velcro strip along the inside opening of the pockets, as well as the current pocket straps, would be a nice feature. Also there is a 2"-3" space to the side of the interior Velcro compartments that could be better used. To start with it should be filled with some removable foam to make a tighter fit inside the case. I guess a book or two could go in this space. The rod that holds the wheels goes through this area and a plastic removable cover over that rod would have been a nice touch. Setting the lock is a bit fiddly but once done forget it. This case is built like a tank, is flexible and perfect for travel. Without doubt the best case I have had in 40 years. It has a nice depth. Any deeper and you finish up stacking lens on lens.I hope Porter Case read this review and fix those very minor issues - then I'd give it 6 stars.

Since I have been doing photography, about 10 years, I have had 4 cases including this one. I just got it today and it holds everything and may even fit the Kitchen sink. Right now I have my D300S with my 18-70 lens fitted, 12-24mm, 18-70mm, Gary Fong PowerSnoot, Collapsible, Chrome Dome, Clear and amber dome...what else....my 2 quantum battery packs, sb800, iPad, Chargers, and I still have room to put my d200 body. and it closes tightly with no effort. A MUST, MUST HAVE FOR SERIOUS PHOTOGRAPHERS.
Comments about Porter Case PCi Deluxe Camera Divider Case with Cart (Black):
I brought this case to replace an old first generation rolling zipper file case. That case worked, but the PCI case is awesome. The dividers are great and I can put a many lenses and a couple of camera bodies in as well. The rolling wheels are sturdy and the pull out extendable handle is strong and firm. The case is not overly large, but a decent size. I highly recommend it.
