Sony's SRW-9000 Super 35mm & PL Mount Upgrade Kit (HKSR-90PL) is designed specifically for the SRW-9000 HDCAM SR camcorder. It lets you swap out the camera's standard 2/3" 3CCD image block with a Super 35mm CCD sensor, at the same time outfitting it with a PL lens mount. This brings the camera's performance level up to that of the flagship Sony F35, while also making it compatible with the full range of professional 35mm cinema lenses. The larger sensor and expanded lens compatibility allow for true "big screen" images and a more cinematic depth of field, turning the SRW-9000 into a fully capable high-end digital cinematography camera.
Note! Swapping out of image block must be performed at a qualified Sony service center.
- Upgraded Imaging System
- Upgrades the SRW-9000's standard-issue 2/3" sensor to the same superlative 35mm device that has attracted praise for the F35--providing superior picture quality, extensive depth-of-field, wider dynamic range, and S-Gamut wide color space.
- PL Mount
- Compatible with an extremely wide range of prime and telephoto lenses, the PL-mount modification allows experienced film makers to easily migrate their skills and their optical equipment to the SRW-9000.
- Every SRW-9000 is upgradable
- Upgradability was always a key factor in the design of the SRW-9000, which is why even the very first examples can accept the HKSR-90PL upgrade.
