Nikon BF-3B Replacement Front Mount Cap for Nikkor AF-S Teleconverters
The Nikon BF-3B Replacement Front Mount Cap for Nikkor AF-S Teleconverters replaces the BF-3A. It is a protective cap that goes on the front of your teleconverter. A tight seal, thanks to the bayonet lock, prevents liquids, dust and dirt from ruining your teleconverter. This cap is compatible with the TC-14E II, TC-17E II, TC-20E II and TC-20E III teleconverters.

I lost my original cap and the one include with Nikon bodies will not mount on the TC, this did the job.

I updated two of my original teleconverter front mount caps with these new ones. These are slightly "taller" and therefore a bit easier to grab, especially with the increased size of the side ridges.
Overall, not a necessary upgrade by any means, but I felt it was worth the minor cost based on the benefits.

Just note that the front teleconverter cap is different from the regular Nikon body cap. You can't use a body cap in its place.
