The VE228H 21.5" LCD Widescreen Computer Display from ASUS is a desktop computer monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The display features a modern design, highlighted by a glossy black frame and smooth desktop stand. Built-in stereo speakers provide audio output.
The display features a native resolution of 1920 x 1080. It also boasts an amazing 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 250cd/m² brightness rating, 5ms response time, support for 16.7 million colors, and 170°/160° viewing angles. It can connect to a computer via VGA, DVI-D, or HDMI.

My 13" notebook screen is hard on my eyes and I need extra screen real estate. I don't have a lot of room so opted for the 21.5" rather than the 23".
One of my laptops has only VGA output and the VE228H flickers - harder to tell when white background of most browsers/applications.

Great product, really love the HDMI input. Not concerned about the sound quality, we don't watch movies from our computer. BUT, this is the last Asus product I will ever buy, because the rebate was denied. According to Asus, it was purchased outside of date range, even though B&H clearly indicated it qualified. Asus just looked for an excuse. Seems to be their standard mode of operation.

One of my old dual CRT hi-res monitors died, so I had to replace it. This ASUS VE228H was the best price for an acceptable size and resolution. I was amazed at how well the quality compared to the remaining CRT, so I bought another! Brighter, crisper, great with videos.

I use this monitor to play my ps3 and use my desktop. Haven't had a problem with it and the display couldn't be better. One draw back is that the speakers aren't all that great but can be easily be connected to speakers or headphones. And it has a DVI, VGA, AND HDMI inputs. over all i was satisfied count ask for a better deal. Highly recommended.

I bought two of these monitors because they were one of the few LED monitors available that allowed VESA mounting. I've had them for about a week now and I only have one mild complaint. The speakers are incredibly weak. I didn't expect them to be great but they are even worse. Even knowing this, I'd still buy them again because they really are great monitors at a very good price.

Picked this up a few weeks ago after needing a replacement 2nd monitor for months. Had used an Asus before and had no complaints, so found this for the right price. Good, clear 1080p picture. Wanted something I could use for full screen playback while video editing, and something to play movies on, as well as for the extra real estate. Naturally, it's not the quality of an Apple LED cinema display, but it's great for the price. I prefer glossy displays but have never bought a generic (non Apple) one before.
Probably just as good as anything you can get for under $500 at this size and resolution. I was also worried the 21.5" wouldn't be big enough - but it's plenty. Go for the 24 or higher if you're looking for something really big.

Great display! It took less than 2 minutes to install. LED really makes a different. At first, my eyes felt awkward, because they were not used to the brightness and the contrast ratio of the new monitor. But now, I can't help but notice how dim and dull my old LCD screen was. Great product! Affordable price. And it's ASUS!
