The 3TB eGo Charcoal Desktop Hard Drive USB 3.0 from Iomega is a desktop hard drive with 3TB of space that takes advantage of the speed offered by the USB 3.0 specifications. USB 3.0 provides for bus transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps, more than ten times faster than USB 2.0. The drive is compatible with PC computer systems, and includes the Iomega Protection Suite via free download to backup and protect your information.

I needed additional external storage for my photos and videos. My current 2tb Lacie was full long ago and I wanted another desktop hard drive to expand my storage. Since Lacie doesn't offer a 3tb desktop drive I did some research on other available brands.
I decided on the Iomega 3tb eGo. While it wasn't the lowest priced drive, it seemed to have very positive reviews. I ordered from B&H on a Thursday and it was delivered on the following Monday. Pretty quick for standard shipping.
I unpacked, plugged in the power, the included USB cable and switched it on. That was it for the installation. It's worked great since I got it a month or so ago. I wouldn't hesitate a second in recommending the eGo to anybody needing affordable, no fuss storage.
