For hanging purposes, there are 4" loop holes on the top and bottom to accommodate a crossbar. The material is washable if you put your machine on a delicate setting.

I'm a semi-pro photographer, and I just love using this background. When it came, I was really excited to put it up and use it.
What I like: The soft velvet absorbs strobe light perfectly. There is no reflection whatsoever from any part of the backdrop. (My cat also finds the fabric extremely comfortable to sleep on)
What I didn't like: The only thing I really dislike about it is the way that it's folded. There are creases all over the backdrop, and if you don't have a steam iron, I suggest you purchase one for the purpose of smoothing out the lines.
All in all, this is really great for portraiture.
