Marshall Electronics 5" On-Camera HDMI Monitor w/ Switronix P-Tap Cable, Battery & Charger Kit

The 5" LCD monitor features a resolution of 800x480. With its small form factor, it's capable of sitting atop your Canon 5D or 7D, mounting via the provided shoe mount adapter. Also provided is a monitor hood. The HDMI input corresponds to the Canon's video out. The monitor's Peaking and False Color filters enable a videographer to set proper focus and exposure (respectively) with much greater precision than the output of the camera's small viewfinder allows.

Powering the camera is the PowerBase 70 Battery Pack, designed specifically to work with the 5D/7D. The 70Wh, 14.8V Lithium-ion battery pack provides up to six times the runtime of the Canon batteries included when you buy the camera. The battery pack also supplies power for up to two separate accessories – in this case, one is the Marshall 5" LCD monitor.

Both of the PowerBase 70's accessory power outputs are Powertap style, so the monitor requires a conversion. That, of course, is where the included Powertap cable comes into play. Designed for the Marshall LCD50, it translates the battery's connector to match the monitor's input connector, and it takes the 14.8V DC power output of the battery and regulates it to 8V DC, 2A to meet the monitor's requirement of 5-12V DC.

The Switronix PB70C PowerBase Charger is a compact 9-240V AC battery charger for the PowerBase 70 battery. Using a Powertap connector, the PB70C delivers a full charge in 4-5 hours.
