Vello EW-73B Lens Hood for Canon 17-85mm & 18-135mm Lenses
The EW-73B Lens Hood from Vello is a dedicated lens hood designed for the Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM and Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lenses. It is designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.
The "petal" shape of this lens hood maximizes the amount of hood coverage for the minimum amount of weight and hood area. This dedicated lens hood is designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

My Canon lens didn't come with a lens hood, so I needed one. The Canon hood was about 40% more and I thought it's just molded plastic, for all I know these guys might make and Canon ones also. I saved money and got the hood I needed. I'm quit satisified.
