Vello EW-78D Dedicated Lens Hood
The dedicated Vello EW-78D Lens Hood is specifically designed for use with Canon's EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM and EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lenses.
Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. A dedicated lens hood is designed to perfectly match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.
The "petal" shape of this lens hood maximizes the amount of hood coverage for the minimum amount of weight and hood area.

The first one I received didn't fit properly. I called customer service and they sent a new one which I received in 3 days. Great Service and the new one works great.

Much better than the threaded hood I had; longer petals yet no vignetting. Half the price of the Canon hood but performs just as well. Perfect.

We use this on the EF-S 18-200mm lens, it fits perfectly, goes on & off easily & protects the lens. We use this lens & hood for personal use only. I was going to order the Canon Lens Hood but it was out of stock. Now I'm glad it was out of stock as this works as good as the Canon Lens Hoods I have on other lens and about 1/2 of the cost.

Bought a cheap hood on an auction site, which was a screw-on type and I couldn't get it off once the lens zoomed a few times. This is a great snap-on hood, perfect for zoom lens, and the price is right, too.

I'm very pleased with this lens hood. I found a different version locally, but that hood screwed on like a lens filter. This one attaches just like the Canon lens hood, which makes it so much easier to use.

i have bought 2 other lens hoods and they created very obvious vignetting on the corners when used at 18mm on my Rebel XS, but this one don't. it's a perfect fit for my 18-200mm lens. plus i get to snap it backwards on the front end of the lens for storage.
I am very happy with this purchase...now if i can only get rid of the other inferior hoods that i have got.
