With the Canon WP-V3 Waterproof Case for the Canon Vixia HF M40, Vixia HF M41 and Vixia HF M400 you can use your flash memory camcorder to take underwater video at depths of up to 130' (40 m). Of course it's also ideal for taking worry-free footage in the rain, at the beach, or on the ski slopes.

The camcorder and housing are ideal for capturing both video and photos underwater. The camcorder even has a special underwater scene mode that will correct the bluish color cast, giving you true color underwater.

Waterproof Rating
The Canon WP-V3 is rated waterproof at depths to 130' (40 m). The same engineering excellence you expect in a Canon camcorder is found in this lightweight yet strong design. A body made from solid polycarbonate delivers high impact resistance and is lightweight, with the benefit of impressive clarity--you see your compatible VIXIA camcorder inside this "clear wet suit" almost as if it's directly in your hands. A white plate glass lens window ensures minimum distortion for the Genuine Canon lens on the camcorder within.
Control Features
Capturing the sharp, vivid HD video of which your compatible VIXIA camcorder is capable, even underwater, requires the ability to access its full capabilities. With the WP-V3, it's easy. At your fingertips are direct control buttons for record start/stop, telephoto and wide zoom, photo capture and preview. Your hands stay right on the controls you need to make fast adjustments or to focus on your subject.
Easy to Handle
The Canon WP-V3 fits the VIXIA HF M41, VIXIA HF M40 and VIXIA HF M400 like the proverbial glove. Its tailored form, approximately 9.8 x 4.6 x 7" (24.9 x 11.7 x 17.8), and the approximately 2.8 lbs (1.27 kg) of total weight mean no unnecessary bulk--you will be able to maneuver underwater the way you want to. This ease of handling makes the WP-V3 the ideal companion for the aquatic cinematographer.

Pros

  • Easily Loaded Equipment

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Underwater Videography

Comments about Canon WP-V3 Waterproof Case:

I went snorkeling with it and it worked beautifully! Even with the camera in it, it is buoyant. For scuba diving it might need a little weight. I wish it would come with a lid for the lens to protect it from scratching during transport. The camera is easily fixed into the case. I like the simplicity of two buttons (on/off, record/stop) and a lever to zoom to control the camera.

Comments about Canon WP-V3 Waterproof Case:

It is easy to use. Very light and durable. It may have scratches in the future, but it is usually not very much. I had a similar product for still point and shoot camera and it worked great. I tried it in the pool, it did not leak, as I thought. It was too much sun light in the open pool, so it was hard to see a picture display. With the depth for scuba diving it will be fine.
