This Fujifilm FinePix T300 Digital Camera (Black) delivers a lot of camera for a photographer looking to upgrade to a more advanced machine: 14MP resolution, a high-quality wide-angle 10X optical zoom lens (28-280mm equivalent), and other advanced features commonly found in sophisticated cameras.
With a crystal-clear 3" LCD monitor with 230K-dot resolution, the T300 also has high sensitivity up to ISO 3200 that allows you to take pictures at dusk and other low-light situations, and CCD shift image stabilization prevents camera shake from ruining a good shot. Automatic scene recognition will know when you're shooting a portrait, a landscape, a night portrait, a macro shot, etc. and make the right adjustments to give you the picture you want. Tracking auto focus keeps a moving object in focus, and the face/smile/blink detection mode optimizes pictures of people, catching the smile and missing the blink.
And on top of all these techno-goodies, you get HD video with 720p resolution for those times when only a movie will do.

The Face Detection can simultaneously recognize up to 10 faces in a photo. Share your group portraits using the Zoom Up function in playbacks, checking each detected face. From the moment I got this camera, the first thing I noticed was the small size. That's great because that's exactly what I expected. Also the 10X zoom worked as expected for long range pictures. It only took me a few minutes to work the different menus on the camera, which gives you a clue on how effortless this camera's usability is.

I am using it for my personal purpose. I got this camera this month and so far satisfied with it. I was looking for something with a good optical zoom, nice videos and new features. I am quite impressed with the use of zoom. Best thing about this camera is that it has many new features including Automatic Choosing for camera settings, panaroma pictures among others. Picture quality are okay. Video is also good, apart from the fact that it takes a little time to focus when you zoom and it does not record sound while optical zoom is in use while recording a video. Image stabilization is also satisfactory. I don't know why but the potrait pictures aren't too sharp as i had expected. It is also small and compact compared to others of the same zoom capacity. The battery life is okay.

Camera worked great in good lighting i.e outdoors or sufficient indoor lighting, but I was very disappointed with the low light picture quality. Even pictures taken in decent light with no flash tended to be blurry. I did like the settings of the camera and the pictures that were in focus were very good. The flash was also in an awkward place and I ended up always placing my finger over it when trying to take a picture.

[...] Wife took it to CA for a wedding. The images were very nice with excellent skin tones (Wish Fuji would come out with an S6). The absolute coolest part of the camera to me was the panoramic feature. Take a picture, slide the camera until the 2 +'s meet up and it takes the next image. Slide again for another matching of the +'s and you have a great panoramic. My wife did a bunch of these at the reception and they turned out great. I'm a pro, but feel like a kid in the toy shop.. Haven't owned it long enough to complain much, but would maybe like more battery life. I think that you'll like the camera. Just tried the setting that detects a smile and takes the picture without touching the shutter button and it works...scary!
