Vello TTL-Off-Camera Flash Cord for Canon EOS - 3' (1 m)
The Vello TTL-Off-Camera Flash Cord provides creative photographers with the ability to remotely fire off-camera Canon Speedlites. Removing the flash from the camera's hot shoe allows the photographer to create unique and dramatic lighting styles that are not possible with a traditional shoe-mounted strobe.
One side of the TTL cable fits directly into the camera's hot shoe to ensure that all of the camera's exposure data is maintained. The other side can be attached to any stand, tripod, or device with a standard 1/4"-20 threaded stud or flash shoe mount.
This coiled cord measures 3' (1 m), allows for handheld shooting at arm's length, and provides extra length for flash brackets with longer positioning arms.
Other available lengths are:
- 1.5' (0.5 m) - ideal for hand-held lighting styles, or when keeping the flash mounted on a compact flash bracket
- 6.5' (2 m) - accommodates keeping the flash mounted on a lightstand with an umbrella, while staying in close proximity
- 33' (10 m) Universal TTL Cord - ideal for a hard wired solution with more range of motion

After reading so many positive reviews I shouldn't have been surprised by the quality of this item but I was. This is a no brainer purchase if you have an external flash. I have no idea if the Canon model is good or not but I'm not paying 4 times more for it. It's nice not feeling ripped off for a change.

If you are considering to buy any of Canon's flash cords, just don't.
This one is extremely well built and durable, at a considerably lower price. After using it for nightclub photography all I can say is that it gets the job done.
The only disadvantage I could find is that the mounts does not fully lock in place (it is possible to disconnect the cord from the camera if you pull hard enough) so I wouldn't trust my flash hanging around, swaying off my camera.
On the other hand, the cord is very small (about 21cm) and can be extended to more than 1m. It's exactly what you need for a hand held external flash.

I have been shooting OCF using a bracket for 10 plus years. I really put a work out on these type of cords. I have been buying Canon Branded ones with a premium price and have had them fail after a few months of use due to the connections falling off. The cords I bought from Vello were significantly better built and still carried all ETTL information. I wish I would have found these cords a LONG time ago. I am very pleased. No more paying bloated prices for branded accessories!

doing an event and my canon cable broke. so i order this one and another canon cable at the same time. i tested both with my quantum trio flash and i am happy to say the vello does transmit exactly the same information as the canon cable in regards to TTL and exposure. vello cable actually has these raised metal clips in the hot shoe seating that puts pressure on the flash contacts. for those who havent used a quantum trio flash, this is a great improvement. the quantum trio is always loose and unstable on canon flash cables. the vello design actually makes the flash secure for once. not to mention the major price difference. if they were both priced at $69.99 i would still choose the vello one instead of canon. i am a strong believer in buying the original manufacture equipment but this was an easy exception.
