Panasonic's Lumix DMC-FH25 Digital Camera (Black) is a complete digital camera image-making machine--it has an 8x Leica wide-angle 28-224mm (35mm equivalent) zoom lens, a 16.1MP high-resolution CCD sensor, and a 2.7" LCD monitor with 230K dots of resolution for composing and viewing photos and video.
And the video is beautiful--1280 x 720p HD video @ 24fps. The superb image stabilization combined with sensitivity up to ISO 6400 and Intelligent Resolution mean you'll never have to be disappointed about blurry pictures in low-light situations.
Scene modes (27) and color modes (8) give you confidence that your photos will be the best possible in any given situation, and high-speed burst shooting at up to 4fps, in tandem with the Sonic Speed autofocus mean that you'll never have to miss a shot waiting for the camera to start up or to focus (shutter release time lag is as short as 0.005 second). And Intelligent Auto exposure will always pick the optimal settings, whatever the scene you're photographing. All of this (and much more) in a camera less than 4" long, and barely 1" deep--you'll always have it with you.

Many people use cell phone cameras for everyday snapshots, but I find that using the Lumix FH-25 as my carry-everywhere camera yields much more useful results. The Lumix, wrapped in a plastic baggie, fits easily into my pocket, still leaving room for other stuff. The controls are easy to manage -- easier than those on my Canon powershot (lost during a recent trip) for which the Lumix is a replacement.
Lens range is nice, though one needs to anchor the camera firmly to get decent results at the 8x (224mm) setting. The lens (Leica label) gives nice results, though I'd say that the Canon images appeared to be as good.
The door that provides battery access seems a bit flimsy, so I'm taking particular care not to stress it. Given that a second Panasonic battery costs about 1/3 the price of the camera, I wish that a generic battery were available.
When on specific assignment I use Nikon DSLR's with the usual assortment of lenses, but the Lumix is an excellent supplement for the many occasions when the Nikons are not along. On the whole, I'm quite satisfied with the Lumix FH-25

Can't zoom in and out on video mode. Access to the menu is not as comfortable as on my DMC-ZS5. The controls in general are not great and easy to access. I wouldn't recommend this one again, even if it has 16 MP. I would recommend other Panasonic Lumix.

I AM SURPRISED HANNAH WOULD LOWER HER SELF TO BUY SUCH A POINT AND SHOOT CAMERA, THIS CAMERA IS EASY TO USE IF TIME IS TAKEN TO ""LEARN" HOW TO USE IT. THE PHOTO'S ARE SHARP IF IT IS WIDE ANGLE OR A VERY VERY LONG ZOOM.
THIS CAMERA SHOULD COST DOUBLE FROM WHAT MOST OF US PAID. I THANK YOU FOR SUCH A NICE EASY TO USE CAMERA THAT TAKES JUST GREAT PHOTO'S.

I really like the on off switch its less likely to come on if pressed while in my pocket! Also takes fantastic photos! the image quality is impressive for a camera in this price range I've been a canon camera only owner and decided to try something different and I'm glad I did! Also the 720p video performed above my expectations on full zoom it held my daughter in perfect focus. I have no complaints after 2 weeks of use.

Comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH25 Digital Camera (Black):
I purchased this point & shoot as a pocket camera to have with me 24 7. First impressions were not
up to expectations for a 16.1 MP. Resolution on auto settings are poor when zooming in. Image stabalization poor. IF a tripod is used, results improve as do using program settings and features
for planned shots. Of course this dampens the P&S feature for candid unplanned snap shots. The price was right on sale. For what I wanted one would have to pay twice as much.

Take this with me when I leave the house so I won't ever miss that "once in a lifetime" shot again. Years ago on the way home from work I glanced at the sky and saw a cloud formation that resembled the Twin Towers complete with the large antenna but leaning on about a 30 degree angle. It only lasted a few minutes but taught me a lesson to always be prepared when opportunity knocks.

I have several cameras which I use for different purposes. This Lumix is the one that I have with me all the time. I had three Lumixs before, and they all developed spots on the light sensor - possibly because I carried them more or less unprotected in my pocket. After the third one did this I gave up and got an Olympus 5010. After six months, I decided to go back to the Lumix -- it's just easier to control and use in different situations. I'll try to keep the dust out of this one.

The extended optical zoom is a real plus. Using the IA mode has rendered excellent color values.
There is some cheapening of componenets, like the buttons and the removal of the ruber coating on the body.
Overall I am very pleased with the product.

This is my second Lumix and I find for a small digital camera it creates clear photos with good color. I also like the variety that it has to offer and I take photos while on the back of a motorcyle and I found that I did not get many
blurred photos compare to some of the other compact cameras I have had. I also find the type of lense in this camera makes a difference also.

High quality images for such a tiny camera. In short, another Panasonic winner at an extremely reasonable price and weighs less than the battery for my DSLR.
