Whether you are shooting in the studio or outdoors, the Vello Wired Remote Switch provides photographers with simple way to control exposures and an easy-to use-tool to create more "keepers".
The unit provides functionality such as: autofocusing, continuous shooting or single image capture and long time exposures. Since you can trigger exposures without touching the camera you will capture clear, blur-free images. The unit requires no batteries - it draws its power from the camera.
The Wired Remote Switch is a huge asset to keep in your studio or gear bag. This particular wired switch uses a cable that's 2.8' (86 cm) long, and is compatible with cameras that have a 3-pin connection, i.e. Canon EOS DSLRs.

I would buy this product again and again
Macro low light shooting. Cheap and works great. What more can you ask for.

wired remote
This would have very useful if I had a camera that it was compatible with. I gave it to my buddy who has a 40d and he seems to be pretty stoked on it.

For macro photography, or timed exposures, this simple cable shutter release is an essential kit item. Easy to use, with instant shutter release, or a shutter lock open option, it works perfectly.

This shutter release does exactly like it should...half-press for focus and full press for shutter release, coupled with a hold switch for bulb exposure. Simply, it works. At this price, what more do you want? Highly recommended.

Comments about Vello RS-C2 Wired Remote Switch for Canon DSLRs w/ 3-Pin Connection (2.8'/86 cm):
Three of the most useful things for any photographer for the purpose of obtaining tack sharp images is the use of a tripod, mirror lock up feature on the SLR, and the use of a remote shutter release. The RS-C2 Wired Remote Switch completes the trilogy. As an amateur landscape photographer I do some shooting with an infrared filter with exposure times exceeding one minute. Even with a tripod some camera shake is inevitable holding the shutter button down for this length of time. This shutter release elimates any source of vibration even for exposures exceeding one minute. You have the ability to lock the shutter button down for as long as you need and even to autofocus with it. Camera shake is an insidious demon who is all too happy to sabotage the clarity of your images and this shutter release (along with a tripod and mirror lock up feature) is a potent weapon to stop this demon dead in its tracks.

Works just fine. GREAT price the only thing that would make this remote better is a longer cord.

I bought this for using with an EOS-20D while the camera is tripod mounted. It fits the camera jack fine and the two stage trigger button operates the auto-focus properly. It's much easier than using the self timer to take tripod exposures and well worth the price.

Comments about Vello RS-C2 Wired Remote Switch for Canon DSLRs w/ 3-Pin Connection (2.8'/86 cm):
Works just as it should. One thing I immediately noticed is that the pin fits such that the wire comes out to the front of the camera. At first I thought this might not be optimal, but actually it helps keep the wire away from the LCD which is nice.
BTW I have both a wired and wireless remote. The wired is actually nicer in many situation because you don't have to be in front of the camera and you don't forget which pocket you put it in when changing camera settings or position.

The item does feel very cheaply built and fragile, but it costs almost nothing and does work.
Not as practical as a wireless remote switch but if you don't want to pay much it's a good option.
Product-wise only I would have given 3 stars, but I'm giving 4 because of the low price.

They had exactly what I wanted in stock. Easy to find. I needed it in 2 days, ordered the product with 2 day shipping, 2 days later it was on my doorstep. Would have been even better if I didn't have to pay for the shipping :)
