Don't get caught without memory, get a high-capacity memory card.
The TG-310 Digital Camera (Blue) from Olympus won't let you down--this is a compact 14MP camera with a 3.6x wide-angle zoom lens (28-100mm equivalent in 35mm format) that's waterproof (down to 10'/ m), shockproof (tested for a 5'/1.5 m drop), and freezeproof (to 14°F/-10°C). You can take it anywhere you go without worry, and take gorgeous photos plus dazzling 720p HD video at the touch a single button.
It has a high resolution 2.7" LCD monitor, Wi-Fi compatibility (with an optional Eye-Fi card), and will take high-capacity SDXC memory cards. Magic Filters (Pop Art, Pin Hole, Drawing, Fisheye, Soft Focus, Punk, Watercolor, and Sparkle) help you make your pictures and movies even more creative, and you can take 3D pictures with the TG-310 (even underwater!).
Dual Image Stabilization chases away those blurry picture blues, and Tap Control allows you to operate playback, shadow adjustment, flash and more by just tapping the top, back or side of the camera--great for underwater or when wearing gloves.

I didn't want to drag my DSLR gear (bulky and expensive) when ocean fishing/diving from my kayak. I thought of purchasing a waterproof box for my G12, but decided that I wanted something that will fit into a pocket and serve my needs, without worrying about water/salt getting into my gear.
For the price it is a great deal. You don't get manual functions, but frankly, I don't have time to compose a shot or dial in manual functions when I'm on the water. I need to be able to see a shot of the fish, kayakers, or the scenery and take a snapshot. The picture quality is great. An added plus is that my kids can take it to the pool or anyplace and I won't worry about them dropping or getting it wet/dirty. Highly recommend.
If I could get 1 wish list, I wish it had an "Av" function so that I can adjust the aperture.

Lasted me 15 days, and i am not specially clumsy.....
Got this cam as a present, and even tough its an underwater camera, the card compartiment got opened while taking pictures in the beach, and that was it.....
Im used go Pro/semiPro DSLRs as well as to point and shoot Canon and Nikons. I also use old Olympus lenses from the 70s for movie making, but this is different....This one is not worth it. Image quality was not good, few manual options even just to add fill flash, battery lasted less than a day, which was quite frustrating on my trip to indonesia....many disadvantages to other rival cameras.....
My advice: skip
I would go with the canon DC10.....

I bought this camera last month to replace the old camera Stylus 1030SW which I used for the last 5 years and love it. I use the TG-310 about a dozen times on land and several times while kayak fishing. So far this camera has exceed my expectation as far as picture quality and long battery life.

I got this camera for my daughter, but I'm now thinking I want it for taking on fishing trips and outings on the boat. It takes great pictures and video along with being drop and water proof.

Purchased as a simple to operate & durable camera for our toddler to use. She loves it and can turn it on and snap pics. It's perfect for this.
Image quality, however, is far inferior in my opinion to point & shoot Canon cameras. If you're looking for rich color, don't buy this camera. Auto white balance is weak.
Battery charger requires camera to be connected to the charger. Also not as nice as Canon point & shoot.

I have owned a few digicam but i like this one due to its toughness and versatility. You have a waterproof cam that looks like a normal digicam. And you dont have to put the annoying silicon casing to do the job.

We bought 2 of these and returned both because of leaking. Not waterproof, not even water resistant. Both leaked in less than 4 feet of water and were never below 8 feet deep. The lens is also in a very bad spot. We took several photos of fingers.
