Don't get caught without memory, get a high-capacity memory card.
The TG-310 Digital Camera (Orange) from Olympus won't let you down--this is a compact 14MP camera with a 3.6x wide-angle zoom lens (28-100mm equivalent in 35mm format) that's waterproof (down to 10'/ m), shockproof (tested for a 5'/1.5 m drop), and freezeproof (to 14°F/-10°C). You can take it anywhere you go without worry, and take gorgeous photos plus dazzling 720p HD video at the touch a single button.
It has a high resolution 2.7" LCD monitor, Wi-Fi compatibility (with an optional Eye-Fi card), and will take high-capacity SDXC memory cards. Magic Filters (Pop Art, Pin Hole, Drawing, Fisheye, Soft Focus, Punk, Watercolor, and Sparkle) help you make your pictures and movies even more creative, and you can take 3D pictures with the TG-310 (even underwater!).
Dual Image Stabilization chases away those blurry picture blues, and Tap Control allows you to operate playback, shadow adjustment, flash and more by just tapping the top, back or side of the camera--great for underwater or when wearing gloves.

We use this camera for everything where we are worried about the weight of or damage to my SLR. We use it whitewater kayaking, rafting, skiing, surfing, you name it. I dropped the last one in the river so we had to replace it but it was an easy choice. This version is updated but seems to retain all of the good features with a few more good ones (better firmware, higher res). The only downsides are that it did not come with an SD card and it is slow to focus- seems slower than the last model.

CONS:
1)Still pictures taken from 4-6 feet with flash are too bright. There is no option to adjust flash intensity and adjusting exposure doesn't seem to help.
2)When the flash is used, it overrides any particular white balance settings and flash pictures are always too "cold", very blue pictures in even very "warm" lighting.
Customer support replied that the best way to fix it is to adjust it on my computer (after a picture is taken).

I would give it zero stars if possible. It didn't last 1 day snorkeling. And Olympus doesn't care. I would try another brand.

Comments about Olympus TG-310 Digital Camera (Orange):
(I've had it for a little over 3 months)
I take this camera on all my adventures whether it's cliff jumping or mt. biking or just everyday things. It's fun to play with the "magic" settings to make your photos look all fancy and there's even a setting that automatically takes a picture when it senses a dog or cat (both separate functions), but it isn't very accurate so I like to make my friends make cat faces or dog faces and I get some priceless shots.
It's stylish and tough and I'm really glad that I got it!
The only complaint I have is that the lens doesn't get covered up when it's off so it gets dirty easily.

Comments about Olympus TG-310 Digital Camera (Orange):
I specifically wanted a camera I could use in the field. As a marine biologist, I am constanly getting things wet and I needed something that could stand up to the elements. I was skeptical at the quality of the image taken under water as well as on land, but this camera gave me a surprise. The video quality was the greatest surprise. I would recommend this camera to anyone who needs something for nondeep excursions in the water! This camera is a rough and tumble.

Comments about Olympus TG-310 Digital Camera (Orange):
i love Olympus cameras and was excited to get this for work. It is a great camera but has a few disadvantages to my previous Olympus. the zoom on it is hard to handle and the buttons are small and thus you hit multiple when trying to change functions. so far the pictures are clear and its easy to use but time will tell on the durability of the camera that it boasts.

Comments about Olympus TG-310 Digital Camera (Orange):
I purchased this camera for a whitewater rafting trip and it did not disappoint! It is light weight easy to handle and carry. I attached a lanyard and wore it around my neck as I was worried I would lose it if I only used the wrist strap. In the future I will buy a floating wrist strap. The picture quality is fantastic. I am excited to use this camera again. A good choice for a low priced water proof camera.
