This TG-610 Digital Camera (Black) from Olympus is one tough customer--it goes underwater as deep as 16' (4.87 m), out in the cold weather to 14°F (-10°C), and even if dropped from a height of up to 5' (1.5 m), keeps taking beautiful 14MP photos and dazzling 720p HD video with its 5x wide-angle 28-140mm (equivalent) zoom lens. Using the brilliant 3" LCD monitor with 960K dots of resolution, you can compose and view photos, knowing that the dual image stabilization and ISO up to 1600 will chase away those blurry-picture blues--plus you can create 3D photos, even underwater (viewable on a 3D device).
There's also Wi-Fi compatibility (with an optional Eye-Fi card), Tap Control that allows you to adjust picture playback, shadow adjustment, flash mode, and more, just by tapping the top, back and sides of the camera--great for cold weather when you're wearing gloves, or for shooting underwater. Magic Filters (8 of them) help you find your inner artist: you can choose Pop Art, Pinhole, Fisheye, Drawing, Soft Focus, Punk, Sparkle, or Watercolor.
There are also 36 shooting modes that will give you the optimal settings for almost any common photographic situation, as well as a Panorama setting. All in a very compact body that's less than 4" wide and only an inch thick, and weighs less than 7 oz.

Comments about Olympus TG-610 Digital Camera (Black):
Bought this camera for my wife for our cruise we are taking at the end of September. Took it to the local pool/water park to see how it worked in the water. Let me say we were not disappointing at all!! It took amazing pictures both above and below water! We can not wait to take it to the Bahamas!!

Comments about Olympus TG-610 Digital Camera (Black):
I got this camera mainly for river trips and sea kayaking. I just clip the lanyard to the loop on my PFD (life vest) and drop it in the pocket. I can shoot while boating through rapids or waves, with wet hands, and obviously it will survive dunks and swims. It also comes in handy for shooting in very wet environments (soaking mist near a waterfall last week) and for dusty trips to the desert. On wet and dusty trips, I carry my nice camera in a Pelican box, and stick this in my pocket.
The hi-def (720p) video is a plus, and the in-camera panorama feature works well and is easy to use.
The menu and onboard help system with the mini-joystick and logical buttons are quite intuitive. I figured it out in minutes with only a few looks in the manual. This ease of use is a real plus.
If you think 14 megapixels is too much of a good thing (unless you're planning to print murals, it just eats up card and hard disk space) you'll be pleased to know you can easily set the image size for 8 MP instead.
The in-camera USB charger for the battery is great on trips if you already have a laptop or car USB adapter. To offset this advantage, battery life is not that great, which can be a problem if you're on a multiday trek.
Any negatives? The shutter is distinctly stiff on mine, so camera shake is much more of an issue than it should be. The button that slides sideways to lock the waterproof door is easily unlocked by accident, and then a simple slide downward could accidentally open the door. The LCD is already developing very fine scratches -- I'm getting a shield. The 'Magic' modes range from goofy to downright useless. OTOH, the Scene options are pretty useful (and pretty darn numerous). I mainly shoot in Program, which works well.
Although you can zoom in and out in videos, the zoom is quick and a bit jerky -- not up to that on a dedicated video camera, but again, this is not that. The image quality is not up to my Canon, but it's perfectly useful. If you want GPS, you'll need to step up to the 810.
For what it is, a tough, versatile camera with nice video, it's perfect.
