This TG-610 Digital Camera (Red) from Olympus is one tough customer--it goes underwater as deep as 16' (4.87 m), out in the cold weather to 14°F (-10°C), and even if dropped from a height of up to 5' (1.5 m), keeps taking beautiful 14MP photos and dazzling 720p HD video with its 5x wide-angle 28-140mm (equivalent) zoom lens. Using the brilliant 3" LCD monitor with 960K dots of resolution, you can compose and view photos, knowing that the dual image stabilization and ISO up to 1600 will chase away those blurry-picture blues--plus you can create 3D photos, even underwater (viewable on a 3D device).
There's also Wi-Fi compatibility (with an optional Eye-Fi card), Tap Control that allows you to adjust picture playback, shadow adjustment, flash mode, and more, just by tapping the top, back and sides of the camera--great for cold weather when you're wearing gloves, or for shooting underwater. Magic Filters (8 of them) help you find your inner artist: you can choose Pop Art, Pinhole, Fisheye, Drawing, Soft Focus, Punk, Sparkle, or Watercolor.
There are also 36 shooting modes that will give you the optimal settings for almost any common photographic situation, as well as a Panorama setting. All in a very compact body that's less than 4" wide and only an inch thick, and weighs less than 7 oz.

Great little point and shoot camera for a novice. Ordered camera for a trip to CA after using my sons. I'm slightly technically challenged so it took a little bit to figure out some of the settings. Still learning and discovering new things on my camera everyday, but love it. Video seemed to focus and blur a bit when shooting, but not overly noticeable. A bit of a delay when taking pictures, nothing I haven't dealt with using other digital cameras. I didn't have battery issues as some of the reviews stated, but I had a second battery just in case. Did notice focusing issues when taking night shots, make sure you hold very very still or have a stationary object to use or shots will be blurry.

I bought this to replace the Olympus 1030SW (also a tough) which I lost a few months ago. THAT was a great camera, except for video quality--it was solid metal, heavy, indestructable. In fact, if you should find it on the highway in Iowa, please send it to me.
While this camera is everything it says it should be: tough, waterproof (not sure about crushproof, didn't test that). However, the quality of image suffers: pixelated, noisy, not sharp. The lag in shutter also caused me to miss shots I would not have with the 1030SW.
I realize a point and shoot isn't perfect, but I expected it to be as good as the discontinued 1030SW from 3 years ago. Don't waste your money on the T-610. I sent it back.

We use this camera for our vehicle inspectors. They work outside all year round. The camera is exposed to all types of weather and performs very well.

I bought this to replace a previous Olympus camera. I need a camera that can take some abuse, I use it on boats, at the beach, while skiing etc. I don't have to worry about braeking or getting it wet. It also has an underwater housing that I use to take underwater photos.

I just spent 3 months in SE Asia backpacking. It worked really well for me. It was nice for the trip becasue I didn't have to worry about keeping it dry or worry about being careful and not dropping it. The photos aren't the best quality but it is nice for documenting a trip, perfect for posting photos online and having for travel memories. I enjoyed the extra settings and taking some pictures with extra effects. I used it in the water often and only once found water inside the battery area. No damage was done to the camera or the battery/memory card. If you are using it in the water, be sure to check your seal before and after just to be safe.

Amazing features that are easy to use. Underwater pictures are great and we didn't even have it in the correct mode. Instructions are simple to follow. We look forward to using it on our kayak trips, cruises, and beach trips. We haven't found any dislikes yet.

A great camera to take pictures underwater with. The Shutter delay makes it a little bit difficult if you are shooting on fishes that moves...
But you get allot for your money!!

Cant wait to try on Fiji Holiday, even though over my budget! the photos are clear and am happy with the product. The menu has alot of options and cannot wait to get out and get right into it. At least the kids can use it without me having a heart attack about dropping it.

Bought this camera for a rafting trip 1 week B4 we did the Grand Canyon. Did not disappoint, learned its features on the fly. Takes great pics, good videos, and the panoramic feature was awesome. I had it in my swim suit all week, never had any issues with water or sand intrusion (there was plenty of both). GREAT CAMERA.
