Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-TX10 Digital Camera (Pink) goes where you go--to the beach, swimming, skiing, biking--with never a worry, because the TX10 is dustproof, waterproof (to 16'/4.87 m)), freezeproof (to 14°F/-10°C) and shockproof from falls as high as 5'/1.5 m. Not only is it tough as nails, the TX10 also takes gorgeous 16.2MP high-resolution photos and full 1920 x 1080 HD video, with its wide-angle 4x 25-100mm (equivalent) zoom lens. The CMOS sensor gives you high speed, high resolution and amazing low-light sensitivity with superb clarity and greatly reduced grain.
The bright 3" LCD monitor (with 921K-dot resolution) makes it easy to compose your shots and check them during playback. Optical SteadyShot image stabilization and sensitivity up to 3200 ISO eliminate blurry pictures due to low light conditions. The Superior Auto mode recognizes 33 scenes for photographs and 44 scenes for movies, and supplies the optimal settings for each one of them. You can even shoot 10 full-resolution images in 1 second with high-speed shooting technology.
There are plenty of creative effects available too: 3D and 3D Sweep Panorama, Background Defocus (perfect for portraits with a professional look), and many more. For flattering pictures of friends and family, Soft Skin, Smile Shutter, and Anti-Blink modes give you the best pictures time after time. Superior Auto mode automatically and intelligently recognizes 36 different scenes and instantly supplies the best settings for each one.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX10 Digital Camera (Pink):
I was actually planning to purchase the TX-5 but when I saw the TX-10 coming out, I decided to wait for it and purchased it right away when b&h finally had it. I already have a dslr and the reason why I bought this camera was I needed a compact one in my purse to compliment my bigger camera plus I was going on a vacation to the beach and I wanted a camera that I could take in the water without it breaking down on me or it having scratches when it gets hit by sand.
It was very much worth the wait because during my trip, my friends and I went reef walking and I was able to submerge this camera 15ft and it was still able to take really good and not to mention very clear pictures. It was submerged for a good 30 minutes and I was expecting it to give up anytime soon but that trip was 7 months ago and the camera still works like new. It pretty much can take good pictures like my dslr and I
have no problems with it at all. Plus I love the soft skin feature of it too. I was also able to use this camera as a video camera for a friend's school project and it had no problems whatsoever recording 30 minutes straight. The video was very clear and had minimal noise.
The only negative thing I have to say about it is it takes a while to power it up, because when you turn it on, it leads you to a screen that reminds you that the battery panel and the side panel has to be checked so that water cannot enter it. And I still don't know how to turn this reminder off. Plus it has a short battery life, and it doesn't come with a separate charger so I had to buy the quick charger because I didn't want to plug my camera in the wall. And lastly, I don't like the slide panel on the front because it seems like its the first thing that would break if the person handling the camera is not very careful with it when they operate it.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this to a friend (which I already did - and they're purchasing their own units very soon). And I like how it still looks brand new because the front is matte finished so its scratch resistant. I very much love this camera. I use it almost everyday and I think it was worth the investment.

I bought this camera because the one I had was so outdated. I use it mostly for personal use but I am in nursing school and one of my requirements is to take an at class so I am taking digital photography in the spring. I really don't have any complaints about the product. It takes awesome pictures and is very easy to learn how to use. I can't wait for next semester to learn more about it with shutter apples and aperture and all the other different things it can do! I would recommends buying this camera to anybody!

A step up above the DSC-TX5,
pros: a better user interface, screen is flush to back ( smooth looking), Video is way better (HD) , less buttons, love the new auto feature, and back ground blur mode, and took away the digital zoom, ( which made pics look noisy )
Cons: takes a little more to open the lens cover, movie button is a pro, but takes a while to actually start recording ( 10 sec or so)

It's pink, waterproof up to 30ft, shockproof, and freeze proof, did I mention it was pink! Bought it for my wife, she loves it, it's our official new travel camera. The photos and video are outstanding, good sound quality on the video too!. Feels like an iPhone in the hand, battery goes quick, hence the 4 stars. So, I bought a second battery, and of course the pink case, and the 16GB HG DUO card. Oh yeah, I love my wife!
