Whatever you want to photograph, Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-W530 Digital Camera (Blue) can handle it--14.1MP resolution guarantees great image quality and the Carl Zeiss 4x wide-angle optical 26-105mm (equivalent in 35mm format) lens gives you a true wide-angle up to a telephoto that's terrific for landscapes, portraits, kids, party pictures, etc. And you'll take this tiny (3.6 x 2 x 0.75"/9.2 x 5.2 x 1.9 cm) featherweight (3.42 oz/97 g) camera with you everywhere, so you'll never miss a picture.
The 2.7" LCD monitor makes it easy to compose and view pictures, or the included VGA 640 x 480 video. A Sweep Panorama mode makes it a snap to produce an impressive ultra wide-angle panoramic photo, even without using a tripod, and SteadyShot image stabilization plus sensitivity up to 3200 ISO means good-bye to blurry pictures forever, even in dim lighting situations.
Friends and family will love the way they look in your photos when you're using the Smile Shutter (captures a smile the moment it appears on your subject's face), Anti-Blink (waits until eyes are open to take the picture), and Soft Skin (removes blemishes and wrinkles from faces in your pictures) modes. And, best of all, the W530 can do it all automatically--just press the shutter button in iAuto mode, the camera does everything else.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W530 Digital Camera (Blue):
This camera was bought for my (8 y/o) child so she got a good camera of her own. Initially a simple but good camera and somewhat durable made us think to spend not more than $60, but at the same time we wanted her to have a camera that makes good quality pictures, and over and all not breakable.
Great about this camera is that it is making nice pictures (even for an adult) for simple everyday pictures. Its (very) compact and lightweight (which helps if dropped so the shock is much less - feather vs. rock), easy to figure out its options, especially with mode of less options, user friendly. Has some nice feature of panorama which is amazing, you hold the camera steady panning and it records it as a 1 shot. Uses SD cards (not the old dreaded Sony Memory Sticks). Nice exterior color selection when buying this model. Smile recognition for self portraits with 2 levels.
Not so good: Video low sound volume, no printed manual - has to be printed from the included CD PDF. No view finder (now most if not all P&S cameras omit). Extreme Shutter delay WHEN using it with is automatic evaluation mode.
