I bought this camera for two reasons... mostly as a carry-around P&S for occasions where lugging my DSLR wasn't appealing, and also as the main camera for my other family members to use.
It's about what I expected for a camera at this price-point, with the bonus of being able to shoot HD.
Personally, I don't find the lack of Image Stabilization a big deal. If I was looking for a P&S to be my main camera, the A2200 wouldn't be it - it's a bit too slow (perceptible shutter lag! time between photos!) and lack of IS would be the main reasons. I went for a Canon because I like the brand and the colours they capture. The images could be a bit sharper, and in the back of my mind I do find myself wishing for more manual settings (everything is a take on "auto"), but for a cheap everyday camera / entry-level camera this does the job.
It's also really, really light. You have to look at your hands to make sure it's there!

It is the worst camera i have ever seen. previously i had Canon powershot A490 and after 2 years it has gone as canon technical person told the lens has a limitation and cannot take more than 2000 cture. Then as per his recommendation I buy Canon powershot A2200 but it is worse than previous. At night the performance is terrible & I cannot understand the picture even. Today night I will [*] try to change the camera. I beg you not to buy any Canon camera

Being a compact camera, this is a good one. It is basic but have nice features that are handy when taking a picture should be a pleasure and not a hasle. I like that it is pretty cheap and it has good amount of pixels and the photo quality is good. The rechargeable battery is another advantage, using AA batteries makes cameras heavier.

I just needed something basic for our motorcycle dealership and this camera fits our needs and budget perfectly. The camera is very easy to use, the battery holds a charge for while (even though we use the flash for EVERY shot), and the HD video capability is just a bonus.

Really nice camera that was easy to use right out of the box. The only issue was there was no SD card shipped with the camera.

I bought this right before a trip to LA and had a lot of fun playing with the various distortion modes, like toy camera and fisheye. It's not like an SLR, but it took great photos of my friends and the places we saw, and I would highly recommend it for vacation.

I took this camera with me to church to use it for the first time and was very disappointed. Often it would have lines running from top to bottom of the viewing screen. The pics had a lot of color and light distortion. Bright white blotches and red blotches. I had my hopes in buying a good quality camera that it being a Canon, but I'm going to give Nikon a try.

Comments about Canon Powershot A2200 Digital Camera (Black):
I use all Canon equipment, and would have never thought one of their cameras would be as limiting as this model. In particular, there's no 'shutter priority' setting. It shoots at f2.8 at any circumstance, and there doesn't seem to be a way to change that. Very disappointing.

Comments about Canon Powershot A2200 Digital Camera (Black):
This photo takes great photos. Learning curve is easy... has a "tilt shift" / "toy camera" / "fish eye" and a couple more lens effects which really sold me on it. Great for a small camera... I might even sell my t2i which i find difficult to carry around sometimes when trying to get a journalistic/unseen photo the bigger camera scares people away.

Comments about Canon Powershot A2200 Digital Camera (Black):
I bought this camera as a birthday gift for my wife. She doesn't shoot a lot of pictures so I thought this camera would be perfect. It takes beautiful pictures and the ability to shoot video is really nice as well. I notice that the pictures that you take where you used flash look like the picture is ruined on the viewfinder but when you get them onto the computer they look good, usually. The actual viewfinder is very grainy when using live view. The fisheye feature doesn't work well at all. We used it at a baseball game from in the press box and the picture looked terrible on the computer, nothing like a fisheye lens. Overall, for what she uses it for, it's a very nice little camera.

Easy to use, I really enjoy my experience for this point and shoot camera. I especially like the fact that there is q rechargeable battery and that it is compatible with other powershot models. I can finally shoot videos in 720p.
