What is great about this camera is that it is quick and fast. I carry this camera when I walk or ride my bike is a camera holster on my belt. With too fancy of a camera you fumble around with all the setting and focus before you take a photograph. This one I just pull out and start shooting photographs and Video. You will NEVER catch the action with some fancy camera (Not that this on is not Top Rate) that has all kinds of bells and whistles on it. For example: I was at the bus terminal and two men got into a fist fight with this camera you just pull and start shooting very limited lag time. This is an excellent all around camera that's quick and fast. Some cameras are just to "fancy" for daily use. This is NOT one of them. You won't be disappointed by this camera. This is the one you will pick up and use daily. AAA+

I used this camera as a backup to my flip video. I went on a weekend trip to Miami Beach. The camera worked well on the beach and in the water. It truly is a waterproof camera. I was happy with both video and still.
It's important that you read the included manual. The camera has a series of settings that correspond to certain lighting situations. if you are at the beach then set the beach mode. At first I ignored the settings and the quality of the files suffered. It's a great little pocket camera that does not take up any extra room in your camera bag or your shirt pocket.
As with all LCD screens, it is impossible to view the screen in bright lighting conditions such as the beach.
To sum it up, the camera is a fine daytime camera. Night time shots and indoor shots are unacceptable.

I'd only recommend this camera to a friend if I was about to end the friendship.
I bought the camera as a last minute purchase for a snorkel trip to Miami.
It was backup for my Flip Video. My question to Kodak is..Don't you field test your products before placing it it on the open market?
The camera cannot handle bright lights and reflections. The color is off. Too much saturation and a look of the early 70's faded Kodacolor prints.
The only acceptable pictures are the ones taken under cloudy skies and under shady conditions. The underwater pictures are decent.
All other pictures contain scratchy exposure lines and green tinting.

I bought this to use for my baby's swim lessons. Works great, easy to use, and was in my price range. The picture quality isnt amazing but for my purposes it works. I love being able to take video with it as well. I would recommend this if you are looking for something inexpensive and not expecting professional quality photos, just something to capture memories.

Have only used this for dry shots so far, But they have come out fantastic. Bought it to use when I go kayaking and looking forward to doing it.
Pro: The camera takes great close up shots and daytime shots.
Con: Night time about 20' away from subject comes out grainy.
Overall: I like the camera and it does what I bought it for.

When our young grandson first used our Kodak Playsport on a recent summer adventure, I was pleased with the patience he showed in setting up the shots. He got good photographs. So, when thinking of a birthday gift for this 9 year old, I thought the EasyShare Sport C123 camera would be perfect for this first camera. The ease of operation, the waterproof feature, were ideal features for this rough and tumble youngster. It looks like it will take the "wild and wet ride" of a nine year old's daily life.

A batch of six in gray were bought for the 5th grade pod (4 classrooms-95 kids). The following is a teacher review after field trip use. The cameras were bought for durability by grubby 10 year olds in the field and computer connectability. Each classroom has a projector run by the teacher's desk computer.
Mr. Burlette says: "I was pleased with the ease of setup and the clear instructions for camera use. It is particularly well-suited for student use as its rubberized surface cuts down on accidental drops. The automatic functions allow it to be used quickly and easily by my novice photographers The camera adjusted well to indoor and outdoor lighting. Waterproofing is a feature that gives me confidence in using the camera on field trips.
One problem- computer connection is a little difficult as opening the dustproof cover for use of the usb cord caused the battery cover to open. It would not stay reshut on one camera.

it does exactly what is supposed to - weather proof (even underwater in a pool)-tough-good pictures-but very hard to see screen in sunlight- easy to transfer photos, uses alkaline batteries -convenient--I use it in on the water helicopter operations (lots of sea spray, on the beach, in the pool and skiing===price is right!!!

I have used this camera just a bit so far. I have gone through all the menu items and exposure adjustments. The camera is a good solid feel and easy to figure out menus. The color is good. Seems best at bright outside shots. A little dark inside and flash may not be spreading light evenly. overall a good carry around camera.
