Casio's EX-ZR100 Exilim Digital Camera (Black) is the flagship of their Exilim line of digital cameras, and it has the goodies to prove it: 12.1MP CMOS back-illuminated sensor, 12.5x wide-angle optical zoom lens (24-300mm equivalent in 35mm format), high-speed dual image processing power, 1920 x 1080 full HD video @30fps (plus super slow-motion video @1000fps at lower resolution), and high-speed burst shooting of still photos at up to 40fps (3fps at full 12MP resolution).
It's not all brute power, though--the EX-ZR100 has an artistic side, with a High Dynamic Range (HDR) program that creates beautiful, well-balanced photos from difficult lighting situations full of shadows and highlights (and an HDR-Art program for even further creativity using HDR); a Slide Panorama function that allows you to shoot wide panoramic photos (up to 360°) without a tripod; and Pre-Record CS so you never have to miss the peak action: press the shutter button halfway down in anticipation of a picture, and if you press the button all the way, everything is recorded (from the first half-way press of the button).

I shoot my professional shots with a Nikon. Lots of weight. Lots of gear. But this little pocket dream gives me 12 megapixel images with amazing high speed possibilities that even my Nikon can't deliver. Stop a butterfly in the air. See a baseball in slow motion. Freeze frame a goal shot. Now I have something I can put in my pocket to use when the circumstances are right.
The only disappointment is the lack of a remote shutter release for those rock solid tripod shots.

Just received this camera and have tested a few stills and some high speed videos.
The build quality seems good and the camera is loaded with features.
The high speed function works great with the ability to record 240 fps at 432x320.
However, image quality is just plain poor. Shots are noticeably soft and the camera fails to properly set it's shutter speed for even the slightest bit of motion in portraits. This camera misses just as many shots as it captures. Hopefully a firmware update will correct this but until then stay away.

Comments about Casio EX-ZR100 Exilim Digital Camera (Black):
I started using digital cameras back in 2008, when they were just emerging.
I have owned Nikon, Panasonic, Hp, Olympus and canon cameras.
Most have been good, but so far, this camera, from CASIO (not a name normally associated with cameras) has been the most pleasant surprise of the lot.
In my view - it's quite simply the most remarkable and versatile pocket-sized camera available today. It can do anything, and it can do it all ... very very well.

Comments about Casio EX-ZR100 Exilim Digital Camera (Black):
I originally viewed this camera for its incredible hi-speed photography features. But after carrying D2x to France and Italy, but wanted something smaller for Spain. This camera has it all!! The HDR took great photos in low light and difficult lighting environments. Panorama mode allows seamless photos, not possible without external editing. It even allows vertical panning. HD video is excellent as well as all of the options. It is a versatile camera, with a wealth of features.

Comments about Casio EX-ZR100 Exilim Digital Camera (Black):
This is my second Exilim in the past 8 years and so far I'm very pleased. Casio has produced another fine camera that fills the void when taking my EOS and glamour glass is not an option. Good response time and focus speed. Only three things I wish were different. The camera is a little thicker than I would like; and it is very easy to turn on the camera by mistake even when it is in a soft case - could explain the issue some have with the battery life; Casio should have designed the charger to plug directly into the wall and not use a separate power cord - it's a design that is waste of space and money.

Comments about Casio EX-ZR100 Exilim Digital Camera (Black):
I purchased this after using a friends to analyze a golf swing. I use the "slow motion" video for coaching my son's little league pitching and batting and my daughter's volleyball (jump serves). We also use the slow motion for improving/coaching water skiing (slalom and trick). It's very easy to use and provides a nice large screen for viewing the slow motion video playback. Bought this solely for the fast frame video and have not used the still photo mode (using Canon 1D Mark III for these). For the price, it gives me exactly what I need to help coach the kids.

Comments about Casio EX-ZR100 Exilim Digital Camera (Black):
I bought this camera for the high speed video function an it is fantastic at the 240fps rate.
I carried a prosumer video camera and 35mm most of the time hard on the back. Now simply carry this camera for most things.
It has lot of function that I do not use but for adding video and still content to my website it great.
The drawback are common for a point and shoot camera, so I have no complaints.

I bought for the high speed video function and am extremely happy with it. There are a lot of things I do not like about point in shoots in general, but that is not why I bought the camera. It is like any tool you have to realize the limits and work with im them.
The quaility for outdoor general photography is great and easy on my back.
I use it for the fun stuff and opportunities that I might miss other wise.

Great concept but it is a toy camera and is very poorly built and the lens jams wide open with even a hair, and or dust or sand...
The repair cost was greater than the camera cost..

This is the most astonishing piece of tech I have ever owned. I am a photographer (nikon) and a machine builder (my other high speed is a redlake) with a real prerecord feature great low light performance (240fps with a 100W light bulb)and great pic quality I am blown away. Actually I could photograph that too...
Plus it has a shutter release and a sep video start

I bought this camera as an excuse to do weekly podcasts and find it difficult to set it down because of the many awesome features.
Slow motion is a great feature that I believe with take home users and youtube fans to a new plain.
My only issue with the ex-zr100 is the manual settings take about 10 to 15 extra seconds to change while on the go, but throwing the camera into premium mode is a great fall-back.
I am a professional wedding photographer who was looking for a walk-around camera and as stated above, was looking for a reason to shoot a weekly podcast, to bad the camera did not come with editing software for the videos to help simplify things.

Comments about Casio EX-ZR100 Exilim Digital Camera (Black):
We purchased this product to use for analyzing my sons technique in sports. The ability to slow down the video to allow us to see all the detail of him in action has been a great tool for him, and his coaches, to use in reviewing his form and allowing them to provide better feedback on what he can do to improve.
We find it works best at the 2490 fps. Using the higher speeds results in grainier footage, but in reality, the 240 fps is more than enough. Even when we have used the higher fps, it still provides enough detail to watch, only drawback is the grainy quality.
The camera also has a lot of other features for photos that will make it useful for more than what we purchased it for. A very good buy.

I got this camera to analyze baseball swings and it's an excellent, relatively low cost solution to the problem of trying to get HD, slow-motion, stop action video. Works great; easy to use; and far less expensive than the professional video cameras.
Perfect for sports.

Bought this for my wife for our Alaska trip. I had 2 Nikon camera's and bunch of lens, but wanted my wife to take pics as well. I actually loved this camera. Fast shots, number of options, slow motion video, and many more features that I drooled over. I probably ended up shooting about 15% of my pictures with this camera...well, I took over 7000 pictures in 23 days :-). Really nice P&S. I would recommend this friends.

I bought this camera in April and after using it once , the lens would not open and rendered the camera impotent .The camera would switch on and I could review what I had shot but that's all , the lens would not come out of the body . Luckily I had an international warranty , because I live in New Zealand and Casio replaced it after about 10 days ,[...] so I was stuck with white . I have since taken that camera to India without any problems.

Used my camera for the first time on the 4th of July was almost able to use all of the many functions this camera has, from high speed video all the way to Best Shot Animal. The use of the fireworks mode in best shot requires a tripod but gives overall great shots. I am always traveling and this is a great camera to keep close by instead of hauling around my NIKON SLR. Well worth the money and looking forward to using it for many years to come. One tip before you use...play around with it for a while and learn all of the functions before actually going out and playing with it. It will save a lot of time and prevent those accidental HS recordings

Comments about Casio EX-ZR100 Exilim Digital Camera (Black):
The focus is soft in all modes of operation.
As the video frame rate increases the focus gets worse. The 1000fps mode which I bought the camera for is a complete blur even on manual focus.
