The Vello TTL-Off-Camera Flash Cord provides creative photographers with the ability to remotely fire off-camera Canon Speedlites. Removing the flash from the camera's hot shoe allows the photographer to create unique and dramatic lighting styles that are not possible with a traditional shoe-mounted strobe.
One side of the TTL cable fits directly into the camera's hot shoe to ensure that all of the camera's exposure data is maintained. The other side can be attached to any stand, tripod, or device with a standard 1/4"-20 threaded stud or flash shoe mount.
This coiled cord measures 1.5' (0.5 m), which is enough distance to accommodate hand-held lighting styles, or when keeping the flash mounted on a compact flash bracket. Shooters looking to mount the flash to a larger bracket or to a stand with an umbrella would probably need a longer version of this cable.
Other available lengths are:
| Cord Length |
1.5' (0.5 m) extended 9.0" (25 cm) relaxed |

Great product!
I use it on a microscope to take flash pictures. It is just the right length and works every flash.

I've seen other aftermarket flash cords for Canon TTL and I think this better made than most. For example, there are locks at both ends of the cord. And this works fine with my Canon 7D and Canon Speedlite 430EX. However, I bought it specifically to go with my Fuji X100 (because the cord was so compact) but the cord was very difficult to mount on the camera's hot shoe: The pins were ever so slightly too large and it would only mount if I wedged the pins with a small screwdriver as I was sliding it onto the hot shoe. Much too cumbersome to be useful in the field.

This off camera flash cord works perfect. The price is great for what you get!
If you need it to stretch far, that can be a problem but for what I use it for it's absolutely perfect.

This flash cord came to me fast and was a perfect addition to my flash to camera gear as I wanted to use an extention over the camera for better lighting techniques. It works great and at a price I thought was more than fair.

Comments about Vello TTL-Off-Camera Flash Cord for Canon EOS - 1.5' (0.5 m):
I got this cable to experiment with my Speedlite 580 and get softer light on faces, but you can do some much more with such simple (and cheap) accessory.
I gave it 4 stars just because the one I got is too short, I should've got the longer one to have more movement freedom (I will get that one really soon).
And last but not least, I have no idea why would you pay more for the canon branded one, this is just the same thing but $40 cheaper!

Comments about Vello TTL-Off-Camera Flash Cord for Canon EOS - 1.5' (0.5 m):
Excellent cord, I don't see any difference from the Canon version. Works great, I like that it is shorter so it is not flopping around or wrapped around the bottom of the flash unit when mounted on the bracket. The Canon is so much more expensive, and two of them went bad. I bought 2 of the less expensive Vello so I will always have a backup.

I use this cord along with a flash bracket. Absolutely no problems with it so far. Works just the same if not better than the more expensive Canon one.

I was a little concerned about purchasing an aftermarket flash cord, but honestly this cable has been better that I expected. Good construction, and functions properly. What else could you ask for. Treat it good, and it should last long.

Comments about Vello TTL-Off-Camera Flash Cord for Canon EOS - 1.5' (0.5 m):
Added the off camera flash cord and it works ad advertised. Portraits and candids make up the bulk of my flash use. Fits perfectly on the camera like it was made perfectly for it. Would have preferred the cord came off the back of the camera instead of the front but it does remain out of the way so it all works out!

I've ended up with a collection of these TTL cords trying to find the right one for use with a bracket. I thought a 2' one would be fine, but even that was too long. This one is perfect and works perfectly too.

Comments about Vello TTL-Off-Camera Flash Cord for Canon EOS - 1.5' (0.5 m):
Exactly my sentiment, it hasn't failed yet! So at this point, it's a 5/5 for me. The build, i'm sure, is sub-par, but is it poor? I don't necessarily think so. Honestly, it's so much cheaper than the system specific equivalent, it's hard to justify the alternative.

I'm from Hawaii and needed a short off-camera flash cord in three days for an event. Placing the order had no problems. Just time in recieving it from the East Coast. B&H came through. Thanks!

Comments about Vello TTL-Off-Camera Flash Cord for Canon EOS - 1.5' (0.5 m):
Using traditional off-camera cords with flip brackets and flash brackets always results in excess coils of cord that clutter the rig and get in your way. This more compact cord alleviates that problem without sacrificing any functionality. The build quality of the Vello cords (I own a few different models) is virtually identical to the Canon original, and at a fraction of the price I can buy backup cords and still be ahead of the game. Vastly superior to other products on the market (like Dot Line), who don't even offer a compact cord like this. Try it, you won't be disappointed!
