The Opteka Platinum Series 0.2X HD Panoramic "Vortex" Fisheye Lens for Digital & Video Cameras features six elements (in four groups) that result in 0.2x magnification and enable up to a 220° field of view. This generates a striking degree of barrel distortion for an extreme fisheye effect. Foreground elements are "pulled in" to the frame, and distant objects are made to recede even further into the background.
The fisheye effect is a useful weapon in any videographer's arsenal, even though it certainly will not be used on every shoot. When it's called for, however, the effect is unmistakable, and the high-definition "Vortex" Fisheye Lens produces one of the most extreme fisheyes in the business. It's perfect for extreme sports, music videos (especially for a retro "1990s look"), and for engendering disorientation in an audience during a dramatic scene.
The rear mount of the 0.2X HD Panoramic "Vortex" Fisheye features a 37mm thread to fit a variety of popular handheld camcorders.
