The Canon PIXMA MX882 All-In-One Inkjet Printer is a budget-friendly, multi-function printer/copy/scanner/fax machine for the small workgroup or home office. Compact though it may be, the MX882 handles its share of the workload like a champ. Proof of this is the 9600 x 2400 color resolution, 12.5 images-per-minute print speed for black prints, 9.3ipm for color prints, and its ability to print on a wide range of paper types.
From plain paper to glossy photo paper, the MX882 is ready to output stunning images and crisp documents on everything up to Legal size. Other highlights of the printer include wireless and Ethernet networking, PictBridge direct printing capabilities, and compatibility with a number of memory cards.
In addition to the printer functions, the ancillary functions of the MX882 make it a one-stop work station. The copy prints color copies at 6.7 images-per-minute, while the scanner is compatible with documents up to 8.5 x 14", and features an optical resolution of 2400 x 4800 dpi. The fax features a 33.6Kbps Super G3 color fax modem, and a transmission speed of 3 seconds per page for black documents.

I bought this printer to replace a Canon MP830 which would not print accurate color prints with Photoshop and Lightroom using 3rd party printer profiles (Red River Paper and Chromix profiles) and a calibrated monitor.
Turns out that I could not completely turn off the MP830's printer management. So my requirements for a new printer were driven by color printing capability.
I have a Canon Pixma Pro9000MkII which I normally use for photo printing. I found that the MX882 printer software is very similar to the Pro9000.
I unboxed the printer, followed the instructions, and had it set up in about 15 minutes.
I downloaded the appropriate profiles from Red River, installed them and printed a test 4x6 test of an image which I had previously printed on the Pro9000. The prints were identical in all respects. Very "Not Bad" for an All-in-One printer that happens to print photos!
If you are not color purist the included photo print software works fine for regular photo printing. Without a reference print you would never notice the difference.
I tested the remaining features of the MX882 - scanner, fax, copier - and they all worked flawlessly. I enabled and then disabled the WIFI (very easy to do from the control panel once you figure out where the commands are hidden) as I rarely print from my laptop.
In summary, If you want a great All-In-One printer that is capable of producing color images equal to larger format professional photo printers costing 3 times as much, this is the printer for you.

It doesn't recognize my iPhone so it won't print from iBooks or other print apps. The Canon Easy-PhotoPrint for iPhone app, only prints photos not PDFs.
I got it for a Windows comp which has no problem connecting to the wireless network but this printer requires greater network strength, so it is much slower to print. Signal extender failed to work on my comp so....
Cant print single transaction report for last fax, only activity report.
Large, with trays extended it measures 24dx19wx11h.
I may mull it over another week before returning it. The last HP C4580 I had was a nightmare from the onset, so now I am afraid to buy a printer.

Quick delivery. Easy setup. Great printing capabilities. Wireless set up, which I was worried about because I hadn't done it previously, not a problem. Will definitely buy from B&H again! Thanks.

This printer is used at home. It does almost everything the Pixma MP750 did. It's sleek looking. It is a dust collector so I keep it covered when not in use with a pillow case. To save inks from drying out I keep the printer off when not in use. I would've liked to select from the printer if I wanted to print from the drawer or the rear. It will only print from the drawer. You can select either the drawer or rear by the computer. I'm really not happy that the cartridges have a chip in them. That will make them more expensive to replace. My Pixma MP750 lasted 8 years. I hope this one last as long and that I still can get cartridges for it. It was a great buy. B&H came through as usual.

This printer replaces an Epson Artisan printer that just had to many annoying things going on to work with anymore. This printer is much quieter, and the greatest feature that the Epson did not have is a rear paper feed for envelopes, etc. The Epson fax never worked right, this one works fine. The only complaint I have is that every once in a while when I send something to the printer it will take two minutes or so making subtle noises before it prints. I assume it is cleaning, but it is slow and annoying. I have only had this for about a month, but it does seem to be using ink quickly. I won't really know until I need to change a cartridge. Other than that, it prints quickly, and the output is beautiful!

It is easy to use following the directions in the book. I have printed two sided papers for my business, used the fax and retrieved faxes sent to me, copied papers and I am very pleased with the Cannon all in one machine. I love the fact that it will open the receiving end of the machine when something is printed or faxed. Great feature.

We had an older desk top printer that required our laptop to be connected in order to print. This new wireless printer is super. Loved that no shipping charge!!

I bought this printer to replace my 6+ year old cannon printer that died. This printer far exceeds my expectations when it comes to print speed. The auto duplex printing is very convenient. Setting the printer up for wireless operation was quick and easy. B&H photo very fast shipping for Pennsylvania residents.

Comments about Canon PIXMA MX882 All-In-One Inkjet Printer:
This printer is used in a small home office and although our 11 year old HP was still working, we didn't have the scan function, so retired it. Set-up was easy, even though I still use WinXP and needed some additional drivers. I use a similar Canon at work, so nothing was all that strange to me. I haven't printed photo's yet, but have done some color copies both from PC and scan mode and copies are very close to originals. Ink consumption seems to be less than the old HP and less than my office printer, so no complaints there. I thought the price was very reasonable for the range the printer offers.

Very good print and scan quality, I am using Mac10.7 OS and the instal software is not new enough. The key is to instal software, disregard error message, then reboot and everything will be there.

I had to replace a failing HP printer, this one does so much more than the HP did for less money! Color quality is great, performance overall is great. The HP always had problems with photo paper from day one, even though it was supposed to be a photo printer, this printer handles the photo paper with no trouble. My only very minor issue is that it won't function on both a wired and wireless network at the same time, I have to switch the function between my laptop and desktop.

Comments about Canon PIXMA MX882 All-In-One Inkjet Printer:
I've used HP printers for years so this was my first non-hp printer for years. The canon seems more substantial than equivalent hp printers. It's heavier and takes up more space.
I use it in my home office for printing, faxing, copying and scanning. It makes more noise and takes longer to print. But I've learned to like the automatic two-sided printing feature. The software is easy to set-up. The wireless feature works great. I have one desktop and two laptops connected.
I'm a bit skeptical about ink usage but I haven't had it long enough. I did note that my big box retailer is carrying the ink cartridges for this machine.

I have used Canon printers for many years and bought this when my Pixma 3000 finally gave up. I was not disappointed. I set it up on a wireless home network with no trouble and it has worked well from day 1. I use it for both personal use and a small business I run from my home. The document output is crisp and clean.

This is my 3rd Canon printer. The cost of a replacement printhead is too high, and you might as well get a whole new printer for fifty dollars more. I don't like this wast of materials, but money talks. B&H had the better price and their delivery was fast. This printer has more features -especially the duplexing scanning and duplexing printing. Having a regular fax machine built in is nice too - saves using old freeware faxing software that was hard to find and would work with Vista 64-bit (no thanks to you Bill Gates/M$.
The print quality is comparable to the MP500 also with 5 ink tanks. I didn't really need the better picture printing of the PIXMA MG line, and my wife likes the simpler faxing.

I use this product for online school. I can do my math homework and then scan it (duplex scanning) into my computer to turn it in. It is very stable, and works great for my husband and I (in different rooms) to use since it has WIFI settings. The scans are clear and it is relatively quiet. When it feeds papers for the scanner it has never taken two pages on accident. It seems to have mastered all of the inconveniences and annoyances from older printers.
I have not used the fax feature or printed pictures, but the scanning/copying/printing has given me no reason to complain.

I purcchased this product to replace a Canon Pixma 310 all in one. So far this machine seems to deliver! There is a bit of a learning curve; however, it integrates nicely between an old Dell computer with XP, a sleek Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 and a Sony AIO with W-7. It seems to be fast, and there are many options as far as the multiple paper trays. I think that the individual ink cartridges will save both time and money. I am looking forward to using the multiple card readers which should accomodate my Digital Cameras. B&H's price was excellent and it was well-packed when received. So far, happy with the purchase, and can't wait to educate myself on the many functions. The printer fits nicely on a wooden filing cabinet, and the wireless feature is a +.
