Comments about Roland UM-ONE - USB MIDI Interface:
After installing it and installing the software it would not communicate with either my computer or the TC Helicon Voiceworks unit that I bought it for. Additionally when I tried to disconnect it from my computer my computer would not restart or even start without it connected to a USB port. I left it on the computer just so I could use my computer and decided not to return it as it would cost me more to do that and have my computer fixed than to just leave it there. I definitly am not satisfied with the Roland Midi cable.

I use this item with a laptop to record MIDI drum performances from a Roland HD-1 Vdrum kit into Reason. It performs perfectly, transmitting MIDI data via USB with an elegant one-piece interface.

Comments about Roland UM-ONE - USB MIDI Interface:
I have this product setup on a compac computer running windows 7 pro. The midi to usb interface is connected to a peavey midimaster 2. It is then routed to a alesis data disk midi unit and several keyboards. When I play back a midi file to the keyboards everything is fine. When I try to record the midi file onto the data disk I get all kinds of problems. I called Roland, they told me it was the data disk. But, when I connected a yamaha midi to usb interface in place of the Roland, all the problems went away. Therefore, I conclude that the roland is not compatible with the alesis data disk midi unit.

Comments about Roland UM-ONE - USB MIDI Interface:
Using Windows-7 x64 Professional on a Laptop. Comments said this device wouldn't work with w764 but I went to the site support and downloaded the updated driver. Plugged the UM-ONE into the laptop usb and Yamaha keyboard and presto, works like a champ. Driver that comes with the box doesn't support the OS I'm using. Only complaint is the cord is ~6' which isn't long enough for my setup so I use a usb extender. Lagtime on the midi is minimal and can be easily adjusted with my mixing software. Overall a descent product for the money.

This cable worked great with My Roland keyboard and laptop computer. As a new user with MixCraft 5, it was easy to lay down several MIDI tracks. Excellent value for the price as well.
