The 2311x 23" Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Computer Display from Hewlett-Packard is a flat-panel monitor with an impressively thin design. The display is backlit with an energy-saving LED light. LED technology is free of the environmental toxins found in traditional CCFL bulbs, and provides more even illumination -- without the need for warm-up time.
The display features a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 -- equal to that of 1080p HD video. For the time it's up i noticed that color changes across the screen depending where ones eyes are. So if one looks in the middle of the screen the edges of the image would have pronounced blueish tint - just because the areas of image are observed at the angle. surely that sort of monitor does not fit for photoediting/correction

I just wanted a bigger monitor to make video editing off of my laptop more comfortable. I was looking for an HP or Samsung because I heard they're the industry best and most trustworthy. I was looking for something 20-24" and around $150 or less, so I landed with this monitor and thoroughly enjoying it so far!

The manufacturing quality is low - display would flicker and go wobble and dark in 5-7 min - as soon as it warms up.
For the time it's up i noticed that color changes across the screen depending where ones eyes are. So if one looks in the middle of the screen the edges of the image would have pronounced blueish tint - just because the areas of image are observed at the angle. surely that sort of monitor does not fit for photoediting/correction

The monitor was very lightweight. I would only install this monitor on a desk that had a back to prevent it from falling over. The image looked nice, but I ended up returning the monitor because it did not work with my Black Magic Design ATEM 1 M/E in 1080 mode due to poor interlacing. Not sure if this was the HP Monitor of the Black Magic device. When hooked up to a computer it produced a great image. It doesn't offer to many settings, but for the average user it would be fine. One note, I did find it difficult to get to the "OverScan" setting. I have to trick the monitor by plugging into the DVI, even though I wanted HDMI, change the setting then change the connection. Overall, good monitor for the money!

I've had this monitor for a while now. It is flawless. I connect my two laptops. one thru HDMI and another thru DVI. So far the experience has been great. Controls are convenient. The LED backlit screen is impeccable. I got it during the holiday promotional sales for only 129.99!! and its the best budget 23" monitor that has HDMI and LED display available for that cheap price!! So far this has not disappointed me. Easy assembly. no screws required. Came with DVI and VGA cables. Awesome clarity!

I use this monitor everyday since purchase for gaming and watching movies. It's amazing in terms of color and clarity. The menu buttons on the monitor are all un-obtrusive and very well placed IMO. It was a steal for 130. No dead pixels and shipped on time. Absolutely the best monitor i've owned thus far. Things that aren't so great - it doesn't clean my room.

bought this because in comparison to other reviews and monitors it had the least bad experiences with a great price and multiple inputs. Too bad it isn't more adjustable, but we knew that in advance so it's not a biggie. I use this screen as an accessory to a 13" Macbook and a Playstation 3 for business, school, and entertainment.
While browsing through emails and spreadsheets, all of the text is clear and crisp, and much easier on the eyes than a 13" laptop screen. For games with lots of quick movements or fast moving scenes in movies, the picture stays sharp and detailed. The color quality is excellent and will please most everybody.
The settings are easy to use, the case is beautiful, and the light blue or amber power light is pleasing to the eyes.
My only complaint is that while the side to side stability is great, the front and back stability is not so much, and if your work surface shakes a little, the screen will wobble front to back slightly. A little annoying but nothing horrible and does not create much risk of tipping.
