The 2511x 25" Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Computer Display from Hewlett-Packard is a flat-panel monitor with an impressively thin design. The display is backlit with an energy-saving LED light. LED technology is free of the environmental toxins found in traditional CCFL bulbs, and provides more even illumination -- without the need for warm-up time.
The display features a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 -- equal to that of 1080p HD video. Purchased the monitor as it was on a good sale price, had good reviews, and was wide enough to allow me to have two documents open side-by-side at the same time. Nice improvement over my old 19" LCD unit and good productivity improvement. The quality of the picture is excellent and very clear using the HDMI input. In short, I like the monitor and think it was an excellent buy at the sale price.
However, the first unit that was shipped to me failed in the first hour of operation by developing a verticle red line in the right hand side of the monitor. Unfortunately, the way hardware is slapped together these days it is an unfortunate sign of the times and particularly from a premium brand like HP. Consequently, I contacted the seller and they could not have been more accommodating, empathetic, and helpful in rectifying the problem. So, while dissappointing and inconvenient, probelms will occur. What's important is how they are resolved and the seller did an excellent job in this respect. I would recommend, as with any on-line purchase, use a reputable seller with a good return policy and capability.

Just out of the box--very easy to set up. It works with my macbook pro and has a clear crisp picture. I'd recommend this as a nice monitor for a laptop, and it's definitely big enough to watch longer videos, movies, etc. I probably could have gone with a smaller size, but am happy with this one. Good price, although it does not have speakers.

I have been using the HP 2511 for three weeks and I haven't found any negatives yet, in fact I LOVE it so far. My computer is in a sun room, but the screen glare during the day is not bad at all. I have a TV tuner and usually have the TV turned on the right side of the screen, while I am doing something else on the left. The 25" allows me to make the TV screen much larger than on my old HP 1907- 19" monitor. Also great for editing pictures. I placed the monitor on top of a 4" book-- 2 feet from my desk chair-- perfect.

I've had 2 of these displays for almost a month now, and love them. I bought them for my new NLE video editing workstation, and they work great. Colors are crisp, screens are large, thin and lightweight.
B&H has the best price I could find online. My first time doing business with them, will buy again!
Only con to this product is that the screen does not adjust up or down, just tilts. For a little over $200 this diplay is definitely worth it!

I purchase the HP 2511X for [$] free shipping thru B&H-B&H is the best,I would order thru them again. I received the HP2511X in excellent condition.Setting it up was a breeze ,no tools needed to set it up on the stand.Windows 7 reconized the monitor and automatically installed the necessary drivers,the CD provided by HP was not needed.Turning on the monitor and the picture & text is nice and crisp no bad pixels found.I had a Samsung 22 inch LCD before and the HP is a slightly better picture.The default setting may be a little too bright so you may want to adjust the brightness,which brings up my one minor con..the controls buttons on the bottom of the monitor is a little hard to see have to feel for it and hope you have the right button.Other than that the monitor is a winner

I use this monitor for gaming. The colors are vibrant. The gaming effects (fog, explosions, etc) are incredible.
Unpacking the unit was easy. Not too much styrofoam, not too much tape, not too much plastic. Just enough.

this monitor came just as advertized . Great picture , bright vivid color , decent viewing angles , nice connection selection . I haven't used the displays adjustment panel menues much so I don't know how well / responsive they are ; but the monitor worked great right out of the box ! I chose not to load the CD that came with it ( not wanting to load any "unwanted-ware" and the drivers in Windows 7 worked just fine . The one thing it doesn't come with is VESA? mount on the back , but that wasn't advertized as having it anyway . So take that into concideration .
