The 2711x 27" Widescreen LED Backlit LCD Computer Display from Hewlett-Packard is a flat-panel monitor with an impressively thin design. The display is backlit with an energy-saving LED light. LED technology is free of the environmental toxins found in traditional CCFL bulbs, and provides more even illumination -- without the need for warm-up time.
The display features a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 -- equal to that of 1080p HD video. It also sports a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 170°/160° viewing angles, 300cd/m² brightness, 5ms response time, and 72% NTSC color gamut support. The display can accept VGA, DVI, and HDMI video signals. I wanted a 27" monitor to pair with my 24" iMac. Originally I had my sights set on an IPS monitor to match the Imac's brilliant display, but couldn't afford the steep price tag that went along with it. I found some helpful reviews on this HP monitor and headed over to a local electronics retailer to check it out. It looked great in store, but wasn't hooked up to an HD source and cost way more than B&H's price.
I got the monitor about 4 days after ordering it, and couldn't be happier! It required a bit of color tuning and calibration to get it perfect, but the images now look lifelike. I consider myself a monitor snob after having IPS displays everywhere at the Apple Store I work at, and this monitor satisfies all of my HD demands.

it is a good monitor, however, it is a little big for 1920x1080, you have to sit far from the monitor to prevent seeing it pixelated! and add the Lacks Adjustability!

I would defiantly recommend this monitor to anyone. The LED runs much cooler than the LCD that this monitor replaced. It has a very thin profile so it feels like it takes up less desktop space and is much lighter than my the 25' LCD it replaced.

As with all monitors performance depends on setting and hardware, for me this is fantastic. At times it can be too bright even when turned all the way down. There is slight light on the edges, but it doesn't effect results or enjoyment. The contrast is amazing while still preserving rich gradations, perhaps due to the brightness.

I use this product everyday as a second monitor to my 27" iMac. The only downside to the monitor is that my iMac has really high resolution of 2560x1440 and it make 1080p not look as good as before. Its got really good brightness and color next to my mac and I would definitely recommend this product. great value for what you get.

I use this to edit videos in high definition. It replaces two 17 inch monitors. Why did I wait so long? It's perfect for a long timeline which I like to use. Extremely bright and clear...great for my "senior" eyes. Set up was plug and play. My favorite. The stand could be more stable. Here in earthquake country I strapped it to my editing space.
